I couldn't dwell too much on the oddity that was me. Then again, that was all I could think about as I walked. What was happening to me? Why did my cuts and scrapes heal overnight like that? This wasn't the first time that it'd happened either, so I knew I hadn't imagined it. It also happened after the time in the lab, when I punched my way through the vent, and caught myself on the rocks in the arroyo. They'd disappeared by morning too. "So, what's going on with me?" I asked myself as I followed the creek onward. "What happened to me? Better than that, what am I?" I had to wonder if those people had done things to me. Was I even human anymore? Was I ever human? Of course, I was human. I had been and I still am. There are no such things as other beings, so I had to be human.
