After getting back inside from my late-night swim, I practically collapsed from exhaustion into the bed. I didn't even take off the clothes I was wearing. The only thing I'd done was clean off my feet from my nighttime run. That was necessary though because I'd cut the bottom of my left foot, and it had been bleeding.
I don't think I had expected to sleep so late the next morning, or rather afternoon. When I opened my eyes, I again thought it was because of the sun streaming in through the windows around me. There was a lot of natural light that filled this space, and I'd enjoyed my mornings here in this room over the last three days. However, I realized it wasn't the early afternoon light that woke me up.
"I just need to check the house. You know that, Mikołaj." I heard a man laug
