  Mystery? Was that really me? Like Nikolai said, it wasn't a horrible name, and I didn't hate it. In truth, I thought it was a great name. Unlike Winnie, this one felt right, like it was meant to be my name. I could confidently give this name to other people and feel like I wasn't lying to them, or even to myself.   "Thank you, Mikołaj." I grinned at him.   "Now, let's get a few things settled." He narrowed his eyes at me, like he hadn't just been jovial and happy.   "What?" I asked him, then looked at Nikolai for help.   "You keep calling us Mikołaj and Nikolai."   "Those… are your names, though. Aren't they?" I was feeling a little worried all of a sudden. "I heard you talking to each other outside. That's what you called each other."   "OK, that's something we need to unpack late
