Chapter 10- Hitching a Ride

  I hurried as quickly as I could. It's likely the trucks were going to be here overnight, so I shouldn't be seen, but I couldn't guarantee this. Some trucks drove through the night. I'd seen them on the road already as I walked here from the lab. Some had two people in them while others had only one driver. This probably affected their driving schedule.   There were dozens of trucks waiting at the rest stop, and not just there. More trucks were sitting and waiting for the truck yard to open in the morning. People were all around, and lights were still on in the gas station connected to the truck stop. I spotted a diner as well, but it wasn't open at this time.
