A kiss

XAVIAN Rayna’s dark eyes stared up at me, shock written in them. She tried to pull away, but I grabbed her closer, my hands still wrapped around her waist. Cassian stared between us, his face totally red. Not that I cared about the emotions he felt and if he was boiling inside, but the fact that he kept crossing Rayna without restrictions made something spark inside of me. “New…” he scoffed, directing his gaze to Rayna. “You haven’t even left me for a week and you were here with another man, you were cheating, weren’t you?” “Cheating?” I raised my brows. “I don’t see any other dogs barking except you.” “How dare you call him a dog?!” His girlfriend barked, stepping forward sharply. My head c****d slightly as a smirk appeared on my lips. “Isn’t that what he is? Had a pretty wife like this and still went after scum like you, only dogs do that.” I turned to Rayna, slipping my hand off her waist to hold her wrist. “Let’s go.” “But–“ “You don’t want to?” “Tell him to sign my divorce papers.” She lifted her toes, whispering into my ears. “You can scare him off with a threat. You are good at that, right?” Her dark eyes seemed to expect a positive answer. Interesting. Just now, she didn’t want to have anything to do with a murderer, but this time, she needs his ability? What other characters of yours are hiding in this petite little body, Rayna Valecrest? “We’ll get the divorce papers. Sign it as fast as possible or do it under pressure. Choose your best poison.” I pulled her along with me as we made our way towards the lottery tickets. “Thank you.” Rayna muttered as she wrenched her hand out of my grasp. “You don’t have to hold my hand anymore.” My hand instantly felt empty, like a warm feeling disappeared from them. I gulped slightly, slowly sliding them into my pockets. “Why do you let them push you around?” “They can’t push me around.” She said sharply. “All I’m waiting for is the divorce papers–“ “You don’t want revenge? Make him feel regret?” I raised my brow, smirking slightly. I knew the feeling. The one that cracks your stomach with hate and makes you want to punch the other person right in the face. If you listened to that feeling, then you lost. You should try to bottle it up and take it out…slowly. “You are crazy.” Rayna said, turning. She took a card and scribbled her name on it. I grabbed it before she could actually throw it and folded the tip into a small crane. “What are you doing?!” She shot. “Making it easier to find.” I shrugged, throwing it into the large glass pot of hundreds of papers. “I didn’t ask for your help.” “Why are you annoyed? About the fact that I’m interfering in your life or that I said you were my girl?” Luke suddenly appeared. “Sir–“ I raised my finger slightly, cutting him off. “Rayna?” She sighed. “I hate the fact that you were there and that you are right here. I hate the fact that you are trying to help me!” “You hate the fact that I saw your misery.” I said flatly, staring at her. Her eyes sharpened with anger. “Who on earth…do you think you are?” She asked. I smirked, “Xavian Varkos. Your mate.” “Bullshit.” She snapped, walking away from me. “You’ll win the lottery.” I said, turning to stare at her back. She halted, facing me. “How do you know that?” “The truth is…I can help you.” I stepped closer to her, stopping right at her front. Her fingers tightened slowly as she stared right back at me, lasers escaping from her eyes. “What can you do?” She scoffed. I raised my fingers, pushing them out one after the other. “First, help you find the murderer. I know you would have a big break in your career if you do.” “You…” she gritted her teeth, “are the murderer.” “Evidence.” I muttered. She gulped, looking away from me. “I’ll find it.” “You are wasting your time. I would never murder someone. I have people to do it for me.” She stared at me unbelievably for a full minute, before she scoffed. “I should have known. You, Xavian, are a psychopath.” She turned, walking away from me in fury I ran my tongue over my lips. “Rayna.” Her name was the only signal I gave to her before I grabbed her arm, pulling her towards me. She gasped. It was cut short as I enveloped her lips with mine.
