AUBREY’S POV
We went downstairs to have our late dinner and I noticed that Chris was scared. He thought that I would probably hate him for hitting Duke like that. I will never hate him. He deserves all the love he can get and I will love him.
Besides, Duke deserves what is happening to him. I hope that in the end, he will confess against Victoria.
“I am not afraid of you,” I broke the silence as we ate dinner.
“That is not me Aubrey, I will never hurt you,” I was right. He was afraid that I was probably going to hurt him.
“I know, trust me, I know you. I know that you are doing all this to protect me and I will be forever grateful,” I thanked him.
“Hmm…” He sighed letting this go.
“By the way, can I ask?” There is this question that had been bothering me for the longest time.
