Chapter 3: Mr. Brown

Akira walked faster than I expected , pulling me down a busy street outside campus.

“ Kira slow down,my legs are aching” I complained

“ Just baer with me , it is two shops ahead” she encouraged.

I was wondering who was this Mr. Brown that my friend has to highly talk about , ‘ maybe it's some old man’ I shrug it off.

“ Mr Brown gets busy in the afternoon”she continued to explain.

The afternoon sun warmed the pavements as we passed small shops and cafes. Students filled the sideways , talking and laughing loudly .

But my mind was fixed on one thing at the moment .

Mr Brown.

The idea of seeing Mr Brown is made my stomach turn , and I don't know why.

A few minutes later we stopped in front of multiple shops.

“ Relax, Mr Brown is a kind man but he can sometimes be cold . Just bare with him , he is so helpful in this assignment “

I nodded. Kira nodded too before turning around to face a small shop.

Glass doors.

Bell hanging above.

Kira pushed the door open.

Smell of papers, pen , printing machine invaded my nostrils with a touch of familiar scent but I can't place a figure on

“ Hi, Claus,” Kira said cheerfully, talking to a well -bodied man . Who was busy typing on the computer before we came in .

“ Hi ,Akira. Wow you like nice today, surely my eyes need holy water”. I turned to look at my friend who was red as a tomato and smiling from ear to ear.

“ What an honour to have such beauty,” Claus said, turning to me.

“ Ooh, it really slipped my mind . Claus this is Lina , my best friend and Lina this is Claus Mr Brown’s co worker”Kira introduced us

“ Welcome beautiful , what are you here for?” Claus asked

“ We have an assignment to attend . But I really want Mr Brown to personally deal with this case” Kira answered .

“ I don't think he will have time now. He is in charge of preparing our new shop. He is really busy, maybe you can convince him.” I stayed shrugging his shoulders at the last part.

“ We will try our best,” Kira said hopefully.

“Take a left turn at the end of the corridor. You will find a hall then you will see a single door , he will be in there. Best of luck, beautiful,”Claus said with a smirk .

“What is wrong with him” I asked Kira

“ He is always like that, just leave him be” she said with a wide smile .Something about these two , it's not normal and I think it's nasty.

We reached the door which we found open, so we just entered. “ Mr Brown," Kira called out

The man was looking out the window, talking on the phone.

Black hair.

Bold shoulders.

Oud minty scent. Sounds familiar

“Ok, do it as fast as you can by Thursday. I want it to be ready .” He said before hanging up while turning.

“ Welcome Kira….” The world stopped , No, no, no my heart stopped.

Calm eyes.

Quiet expression.

It's him,

Elly.

So is Elly the famous Mr Brown. What a small world.

He looked surprised as I felt . For a moment none of us spoke.

“ Kenzy, this is Mr Brown. I told you he could help you with the assignment”

Mr Brown?.

I looked from Kira to him again. I can't believe this world anymore.

“ Mr Brown, this is my friend Lina” she said and that huge man nodded.

“ We have an assignment and it's due on the 14th. Can you help us, please?” Kira pleaded but Mr Brown's face was expressionless , he was just looking at me.

“ No,” he answered faster without second thought before turning and went behind the desk eyes on the computer screen.

Kira looked at me face down, arguing with me to say anything to get this situation on hand but I don't even know how.
