Daddy had just told me I was still leaving with Vincenzo.
The words echoed in my head long after he said them.
I stood there frozen while he still held me in his arms.
For a moment, I felt like a little girl again.
Not a Luna.
Not a future mate.
Not someone expected to make impossible choices.
Just Daddy’s daughter.
And suddenly none of this felt fair.
My throat tightened.
“But… but Daddy…”
My voice cracked.
“I told the truth.”
The words rushed out before I could stop them.
“I told everyone what I knew.”
I looked up at him desperately.
“I didn’t lie.”
I swallowed hard.
“Just like I promised I wouldn’t.”
The fear in my chest kept growing.
