Shawn’s visits after that never really returned to the regularity with which they started. He would just show up—without calling. I didn’t mind. The thought of suddenly having to stop what I was doing—even if that was having an on-line conference with a client (I was a free-lance software developer)—to service him, that was just plain exciting.
