Nathan couldn’t shake an inexplicable sense of irritation as he scrolled absentmindedly through his chat history with Isabella.  Back then, she would reach out almost daily to greet him with good morning and good night messages. She eagerly shared the scenery she saw, the food she tasted—practically every tiny detail of her life. To him, it had felt annoyingly clingy.  But ever since he had sent her abroad, it was as if she had vanished into thin air.
