Chapter 3
Elias POV
I sat there like a statue waiting for her as if waiting for a miracle to appear in the thin air. I knew the risk of coming here, I knew that it will be risky to be here, I knew that I will be possibly exposing myself and others in the daylight for our enemies, but I couldn’t help it. The urge and pain were unbearable. I can’t wait anymore; I can’t just sit and wait while doing nothing to make sure she was okay. I had to do it, I have to see her and face my biggest fear of all time.
I can sense her presence here; her scent was lingering all around the café even from miles away I can smell her. It was an infusion of vanilla, rose, and honey. It was extremely divine and unique of course. The most heartbreaking part was when he couldn’t recognize me. She didn’t even look into my eyes; all she did was doing her job as a waiter. That hurt to the core. I couldn’t help but stare and endure all her movement throughout like a starker. She looked even more beautiful than the last time I met her.
Unable to bear the pain of losing her I decided to leave the café, especially after sensing how uncomfortable she felt. Although she did know who I was, she could still figure out that someone was staring and observing her every move, which was incredible that she is getting her powers again but it could also be a downfall at the same time.
“I told you not to go, there didn’t I?” I heard my mother speaking out of anger the moment I stepped into the house. “I can’t control it mother, it’s very difficult for me to stay away from her. She’s like a d**g to me. I just can’t.”
“I get how you are feeling right now honey, but we don’t have a choice. This is the best way to keep her safe.” She said while putting her hand on my shoulder to comfort me.
“Keeping her safe? How can she be safe when I’m so far away from her? She needs me, mother and you know that too ..” I said out of frustration and fury.
“I know that Elias, but you have to give us some time to figure out a way, for now, this is the best choice for her.” She said.
“It is just for now mother, I know that you and father are not sure and can’t guarantee her safety. That why I’m insisting that I should be by her side now than ever. She NEEDS me, mom. She NEEDS me!” I said why emphasizing the NEED.
“We understand the instinct and the need of you to protect her sweetheart, that’s why your father and I are going to the Edwards to come out with a temporary solution.
“We need you to be patient for now. Please honey” she said while hugging me.
I sat there in the room filled with rage thinking that I couldn’t do anything to anything when she’s in danger. I felt extremely helpless.
