CHAPTER SEVEN Carly snatched her fingers back to her side. As startled as she felt, she hadn’t lost control of the experience—at least not so far. She closed her eyes and focused on the spirit’s presence. Again she heard a voice in her mind. “How did you find me?” “I’m here to help,” Carly replied with her thoughts. “What are you doing here?” “I said I’m here to help.” Behind her closed eyelids, Carly found herself standing in a broad, dark, empty space with a large open box right in front of her. “Go away,” the voice said. “But I’m here to help,” Carly repeated. “Go away, I said.” Carly realized the voice was coming out of the box.
