Kaden stood frozen in the doorway of the clinic with his chest heaving with exertion and emotion. His eyes were locked on the impossible sight before him. Raven. Alive. Breathing. Moving. It couldn't be real. His mind couldn't reconcile what he was seeing. With what he knew to be true. He had held her lifeless body in his arms, but there she was, sitting up on the cot with a bowl of soup in her hands looking weak and pale, but undeniably alive. Kaden's legs moved before his brain could catch up. He crossed the room in three long strides, completely ignoring everything else around him. He vaguely registered that Ava was sitting in a chair nearby, but he couldn't spare her even a glance. His entire focus was consumed by Raven. "Raven," Kaden breathed, his eyes wide with disbelief.
