Raven opened her mouth to answer and Aaron leaned forward because he desperately needed to hear what she was about to say but before she could speak, rapid footsteps echoed through the garden.
They both turned to see one of his guards running toward them with panic on his face.
"Your Majesty!" The guard gasped and skidded to a stop in front of them. He bent over to catch his breath. "Forgive the interruption, but we just received urgent news."
"What news?" Aaron instantly stood up, his whole body growing tense. Guards didn't interrupt him in the gardens unless something was seriously wrong.
"A messenger just arrived from the southern border," The guard said, straightening up. "Your uncle Gerald is on his way to Moonshroud and he should arrive within two days."
