Aaron stood outside the inn room door with his forehead pressed against the wood, his heart hammering in his chest like it was trying to break through his ribs. He had followed Ava here after she came back to the palace in tears because he needed to see Raven even if she refused to talk to him. "Raven please," Aaron said while keeping his voice low so the other guests wouldn't hear. "I need to talk to you." Silence greeted him from the other side of the door which hurt worse than if she had shouted at him to leave.
