"Why?" Ava pressed, while continuing to approach him. "Because of this thing I feel pulling me toward you?"
So she felt it too which meant the bond was affecting her just as strongly as it affected him. That knowledge should have made his task easier because killing her would end her suffering from an unfulfilled mate bond.
Instead it made everything harder because now he knew she wanted him as much as he wanted her.
"You don't know what you're talking about," Kaden said, his hand tightening on his blade.
"I think I do," Ava stopped a few feet away from him. "I've read about mate bonds in books even though I never thought I would experience one."
