Cannon had finished putting the tent together, then tossed some sand around it so it could blend it from above. He shook off the blanket and placed it inside. He held it open for Ryver to crawl inside. She did without a word. He rubbed his hands up and down her back when they were both lying down. Finally, he whispered into her ear. “I’m only sorry that you’re in this situation at all.
