Cannon was still nervous, but he followed suit, taking each step ahead carefully. They were able to move through the field quickly. Cannon watched the tops of the trees while Ryver moved forward, looking for any threats. He loved the team they were becoming. Soon enough, they reached the ravine. Under the light of the moon, it looked long and slightly treacherous. Cannon reminded Ryver that they needed to be extra careful. “I don’t think it’s profound, but let’s just be cautious – there could be fallen branches or anything moving around in here.” Ryver nodded. She was holding the backpack now and was directly behind him. They would move slower, but it was better that way to avoid injuring themselves. Cannon tested the water. It was shallow, so he felt they could easily walk through it.
