Chapter 3

"You didn't bother to do that," I said while squeezing my hair as I sat on the sofa. With a messy appearance, I was forced to pick up the phone from my grandfather. Due to the effects of last night's hangover, I slept so soundly and woke up to repeated calls from my grandfather. "Where? You never even brought your future husband to your grandfather." His voice was heavy as always. If we were face to face, I knew he'd make that stern face that often made others afraid of him. I pressed my lips together slightly, inwardly grumbling at her fussiness over this. "I'll bring my future husband later." I paused for a moment. "Ah, grandfather's weekend. So don't set me up. It's not the old days." I emphasized the sentence I said, then quickly switched off the phone. I was pretty sure that he was now chatting with his secretary. But I don't care. Now, with the cell phone in my hand, I calmed myself down. "It's a good thing I didn't bring that damn man to meet Grandfather. He would have deceived me." Thinking about him really made me upset. My grandfather's repeated coercion also made me depressed. It would be even more difficult if I married a man of his choice. A business marriage had no love in it at all. I couldn't spend a lifetime with a man I didn't love and see his face constantly. My choice to pay a man to be my fake man was the right choice. This way everything will be done well, after I inherit everything, we can divorce and everything will be fine. Ash's handsome face flashed in my mind. It's not bad having an attractive husband, he can be a trophy husband. "He also turned out to be a pretty nice guy. Dropping me home without doing anything." I looked at my body. I am a beautiful woman, and I have a curvaceous body. I'm sure many men like it. But I thought that guy I just met, the hired guy, would do something to me because he thought this was an opportunity for him to get more. Turns out he didn't do anything. "That's a plus for you, Ash." I smiled. After a few minutes of lazing around on the sofa in my room, I finally cleaned myself up, and it refreshed my body. Wanting everything to go well, I quickly picked up my cell phone and called Ash. Luckily, before I lost consciousness, I had saved his number. My forehead furrowed. "Why isn't he picking up my calls at all?" I called several times, but he didn't pick up, deepening the wrinkles on my forehead. "Ah, maybe he's drunk too?" I felt strange with my words, but I shrugged both shoulders. Maybe I can contact him later, but now I must get dressed first. My condition is not very good, so I could get sick quickly, and it wouldn't be pleasant. I have a lot of planning to do. It even had to be done immediately because the weekend was tomorrow. I bit my lip slightly. "I should have just told Grandpa next week." Being drunk made me unable to think clearly. Suddenly, my cell phone rang. It was Ash who made me immediately pick up the phone. "Ash! You finally called me. I thought you forgot about me or ignored me." If he did that, this would be quite difficult for me. Where should I find a hired man to be my future husband? Or maybe I won't find a man with a high-quality face like him. Yes, the face is important because it's like jewelry. Humans who look at it will be envious of it. "No. I had a busy day earlier." His voice sounded low, and it was uncomfortable for me. My mind drifted to the work he often did until the grip of my hand was so tight. "Ash, since I'm going to pay you a high price, don't date any woman again." I firmly said it. Perhaps he was currently with one of the women who kept him. The thought of them engaging in voluptuous acts made my head feel heavy. "You think I'm sleeping with them?" Ash's voice became heavier. Was he angry about that? "No, I'm not. It's another job." He spoke again, his words slightly easing the burden I felt earlier. Both corners of my lips smiled because of this. "Ash, can you come to my house now? I have something to do with you. It's important because of the contract we both have." If I don't say it now, then things might get messy. I'll also have to teach him a few things if his attitude is rude because he's been a hired man for another woman. Grandfather might disapprove of this and immediately set her up with the man of his choice. "Alright. I'll be there in a moment." He replied quickly. Of course, he must be in desperate need of money. As I read in the article, if it was their life choice, the money they get is used for their lives, such as branded clothes and goods, luxurious places, and fake social status. But I thought they were much better than my ex-boyfriend and that woman. After waiting for a few minutes, I didn't expect him to arrive so soon. There were repeated knocks on my door. But when I saw who was coming, my happy expression turned dark. I wanted to use all the curse words in the world on him. He shouldn't have appeared before me with a smile and a bouquet of flowers. He looks so disgusting. "You shouldn't dare show your face in front of me," I emphasized the sentence as I tilted my head and gave him a sharp look. Boxton still maintained his fake smile, absolutely unable to make me melt. "I came here because I wanted to apologize to you, Teresa. We have been in a relationship for three months. If we break up, the time we spent together will be shameful." Look, he's saying a lot of nonsense out of his mouth. He's so clueless. "Crazy bastard. You still dare to talk like that. I'm so sorry I dated you and had to break up. You're trash." I tried to close the door, but his hand got in the way. He pushed while showing his face. "Teresa, don't act like this. You can't sell out." His words made my eyes look at him wider. "No one will want you as much as I do, Teresa." "Get out of my way! You're a f*****g man! I don't want to be with you, you're the one who betrayed me and you're so disgusting." I pushed the door with all my might. I didn't want him to make it into the house. With this man's madness and unconsciousness, maybe he could do something to me. But his strength was much stronger than mine, making the door open until I was pushed out. "Damn it!" I yelled. A second later I heard a loud crash along with a strong yell. "Get out of the way you bastard!"
