11 ~ Fire for Fire.

1100 Words
Her eyes pull me in like an ancient fire—dangerous, eternal, inescapable. She is something different. She threw me out but I… I just want more of her despite the danger that lurked ahead. RYDER “Sleeping in the laboratory is prohibited, Ryder Flynn.” Mr. Gregory’s raspy voice cut through the silence like sandpaper on glass. Every bone in my body ached. My skin still burned from her slap. Bryce’s grip left shadows on my arms. Damn. That b***h of a man. “I… I'm here, sir.” I said, yawning. Sophia's face ran cold as she stared at me. She didn't like it. What she hates the most is seeing someone take a nap in class, not especially when she expects you to disturb the lecturer. “Who says you were not here?” Mr. Gregory mocked, gently tapping my back before he made his way to the pulpit. I rolled my eyes irritatingly, swearing that he would suffer for his mistake. How dare he mock me in front of the whole class? As Mr. Gregory's class continued, his words kept on entering through my left ear and exiting through my right ear. Why? After sleep drained out of my eyes, all I could see and picture was Miss Alessia's ominous gaze from last night. It felt like an ancient fire. Something I have seen before. Something that had slowly drawn me in. The way my hands ran down her fingers and the taste of her still lingered on my lips. The scene kept on playing in my head and I can't even forget her evil words, “From today, you will bleed for every scar I carry. You’ll suffer for every loss I’ve buried. And you’ll be the drug I take when the pain claws back up my throat.” Who could have offended her so much? Why does she hate my face? Or… is it all a lie? But the foolish me still remembered her soft lips on mine. I bit the bottom of my pen as the thought filled my mind. I snapped out of it and tilted my head so I could listen to whatever Mr. Gregory had to lecture in the chemistry class before he left. Hadey, my coursemate with a face too calm for shadows he carries, stared at me again. Those same blue eyes that once dragged me behind the stadium, confessed their love, and then I slapped that damn attitude out of him. Fuck him! Realizing there was no need to look at Mr. Gregory while he taught the class, I decided to listen and turn my head back to Sophia's direction who was fiddling with her phone. My nightmare only started again when Alessia stepped into the classroom with a bright smile on her face. She was in a very good mood. Her baby-pink blouse clung to her like temptation tailored, every curve carved in velvet tension. Her n*****s pierced through the silk like a silent declaration. Her eyes were fixed on me and I looked away quickly only to see that Mr. Gregory's eyes were following her as well. A smile nearly played on my lips but I stopped it realizing that there was nothing to smile about. “Good morning, Mr. Gregory.” Miss Alessia greeted while she wrapped her hands behind her. “Morning, Miss Alessia.” Mr. Gregory replied, obviously putting the whole class on hold. “What brings you here?” He asked, chuckling dryly as he tried to hide his desires for her which I understood clearly but the offer is mine. Before she could reply, I voiced out. “I am sorry, Miss Alessia. I forgot you called me earlier.” I stood from my seat quickly, reached where she was and grabbed her hands. “Excuse me, Mr. Gregory.” I didn't wait for a reply before I darted out of the class pulling Miss Alessia along. Once we were outside, I released her hands and stared blankly at her. “Why was the need to pull me out?” She asked, her tone switching to a cold one. Exactly the question I should ask myself. ‘Why?’ “Why was the need to come to Mr. Gregory's class?” I asked, my voice trembling slightly, though a whisper. Question for question. Fire for fire. She chuckled dryly, “Why are you so bold and domineering all of a sudden. What has changed in you?” Her eyes ran down my whole body. “You woke something in me I didn’t know I buried.” I replied almost immediately or should I say the words slipped out of my tongue? “My charm is irresistible. Anyone will surely fall for it, including you.” She smirked shortly. “Are you admitting to consciously lure me inyo danger?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “It is your decision to make. I can only pull the string. You get to decide if I should let go of the arrow or not.” She scoffed. “I don't know what you mean by that.” I lied, under my nose. “Of course, you don't. But. Very. Soon.” She chuckled before she pulled out my hand and dropped a paper in it. My fingers clenched the paper. It felt like a bomb disguised in ink and curves. 8 P.M. Tomorrow night. My mansion. See you there! Was all that was written. I raised a questioning eye after glancing through it. “You could have sent a text.” “It feels more satisfying to see you personally.” It's nice to see me. Yes, it is. And I won't fall for the choice to be seen. “And why did you keep saying that I will pay for a sin I didn't commit?” I asked. “If you're so curious, come to my house.” She cooed then ran her fingers across my chest before she walked away while her heeled shoes echoed on the tiled floor. Every time she walked away, I felt both relief and withdrawal. Like coming off a drug I didn’t ask for but can’t live without. I sniffed before I returned to the class. Sophia's eyes rested on mine as soon as I sat. Her eyes were full of curiosity as to what was happening. After the class, she rushed over, leaving her items on the laboratory’s slab. “Bro. The f**k’s going on?” But my mind had longed drifted to the message Alessia left me with while I bit my lower lip slowly.
