Lisa’s POV By the time dinner was over, the house had settled into a comfortable quiet, it wasn’t the empty or the lonely kind. It was just… peaceful, there were no doctors rushing in and out of rooms, no machines beeping every few minutes. No endless waiting for updates, no fear sitting permanently in my chest. Ethan was home, seated comfortably in his room. The thought still felt unreal, even after helping him settle in, after watching the nurses explain the last few instructions before leaving.
