Raven The chime above the door chimed softly, a sound I normally loved and adored. Today, however, it scraped and grated on my nerves. I stood behind the counter of my bookstore — my safe place — stacking books that needed to be placed on the show floor. Straightened piles of papers and receipts to keep myself busy. I straightened promotional signs and posters that were already aligned. I was doing anything and everything I could to keep my hands busy. Anything to keep my mind from betraying me and straying to thoughts of them. Because I knew if I allowed my mind to take the path it wanted, I would be plagued by thoughts of Dominic and Nico all day long, and I had too much to do to be that distracted. Thinking of him, no, thinking of both of them was a delicious distraction though.
