Chapter 5
Her father, shaking hands with Mr Dickson, said, “You are finally here, today’s main character.”
Naomi asked, “Why is he here?”
Mr Dickon came to her with a creepy smile on his face, saying, “I am here to get married.”
She asked, “Married to whom?”
He then responded by touching her face. She felt disgusted. “To you.”
Her stepmother added with a smile on her face, “Mr Dickson, here is your groom for today.”
The countenance on her face changed. She was terrified as she looked at everyone, including her smiling step-sister Clara. Clara dragged her and pushed her into the arms of Mr Dickson, saying, “You two, it really seems like a match made in heaven.”
Naomi was panting heavily at this point. “This can’t happen, I am supposed to marry David.”
Her tears betrayed her as she took out her phone to call David. She dialed his number, his phone was ringing yet no response, and she kept dialing and dialing yet no response.
Her family kept looking at her as she looked miserable, feeling satisfied.
As she was about to walk out, the man grabbed her by the arm. “Where do you think you are going?”
“Let go of me, “she cried and pushed the man away forcefully. Her family widened their eyes in shock as they saw their intended in-law on the floor. Just then Clara picked up a baseball bat and hit her on the head, she fell hard on the floor, and she fainted.
Once revived, the old man’s bodyguards picked her up from the floor, supporting her on her feet.
Mr Dickson then said, “Bold move, easy woman who has no charm.”
Her father then said, “What’s wrong with you? You don’t know how to be grateful. Mr Dickson is the husband we chose for you, my beloved daughter. Do you really think I called you to New York for that old woman’s surgery money? Is that what you thought?”
Her stepmother gave out a short laugh, saying, “You should be grateful to Mr Dickson, he is ready to spend 20 million for you to become his wife.”
Clara then added, “Naomi, you need to know your place. A country girl with nothing to her name wants to marry David? Wake up”
Mr Dickson also spoke up, “I might be an old man, but my club rakes in money every day. What suits my wealth is someone like you, very young and full of life.”
Naomi was crying profusely now and struggling to break free from the tight grip of his bodyguards. Mr Dickson was laughing now together with Naomi’s father. “Tonight I will take you to a world of fantasy.”
Then she said, “You have all been lying to me, Father, am I not your daughter?”
Her father then responded, “I have only one daughter and that’s my precious Clara.”
Clara smiled satisfactorily at her father, a wicked kind of smile. Their plan had succeeded.
Clara, folding her hands, said, “Enough already, the officiant is waiting, so let’s get married quickly.”
Naomi struggled the more to break free, saying, “Let go of me. Let go”
Meanwhile, Dominic's man came to him saying, “Boss, all the wedding preparations are complete.”
Dominic was sitting down drinking a cup of tea, when he asked, “And the gifts?”
Immediately, suitcases of money, gold, jewelry opened up across all his men. It was shouting luxury and wealth.
He nodded his head on seeing what his men had prepared, saying, “Good, my woman deserves everything, I’ll never let her have less than others.”
Suddenly, his personal assistant, Jason, received a call. He said immediately, “Boss, we have a problem, your woman is about to marry another man.”
Dominic, on hearing that, stood up immediately, “What? Who dares touch my woman? Looks like the wedding will become a funeral. Get everything ready now.
Dominic and his men were stuck in traffic on their way to the wedding venue. His personal assistant, Jason, driving, said to him, “Boss, the traffic is completely jammed.”
Dominic stepped out of his limousine and immediately looking around, he noticed a man on a bike and dragged him down, taking off his helmet and putting it on, before climbing the bike.
The man shouted, “What are you doing right now?
His personal assistant immediately opened a suitcase filled with millions to be given to the man. The man opened his eyes in shock at such a huge amount of money.
Jason asked, “Is this enough?
The man responded, “Yes, it’s more than enough, thank you,” he bowed to Dominic and told him to drive safely, bowing down his head before leaving.
Dominic drove off. Meanwhile, at the wedding venue, Naomi was still struggling to free herself from this arranged marriage by her father, saying, “I will never marry you! Let me go”
The bodyguard shouted, “Shut up,” stuffing her mouth with a handkerchief, saying, “You are disturbing the Black Boss wedding next door.”
Her stepmother said, “If we ruin the Black Boss wedding, we will be all dead.”
Mr Dickson said,” It’s alright, Black Boss and I are close.”
Her father, on hearing that, laughed really hard. Her stepmom was surprised as well. “You have actually met the Black Boss?”
“Of course," he said.
Clara then said, “Naomi, look at the amazing husband we found for you. Just look how good he is.”
Her step added, “That’s right.”
Her father commanded to the bodyguards, “Get them on stage.”
With Naomi crying profusely at the wedding procession, her hands tied to her back, held firmly by the guards and a handkerchief stuffed into her mouth, the officiator then said, “I now pronounce you Mr Dickson and Naomi West husband and wife.”
Family and guests at the wedding gave a round of applause. Just as the handkerchief in her mouth was snatched away by her supposed husband getting ready to kiss her, Dickson Reed arrived in his power bike. He jumped over the fence with his bike, disrupting the venue, and everyone looked in amazement at his dramatic entry.
