CHAPTER 1

Naomi West was sitting on the train, glancing at her book, when suddenly an announcement was made.

“Next station is South station, this is South station.”

Reluctantly, she closed her book as she wandered in thought: “Mom needs surgery, and it costs 20 million. Today I'm going to the south to get money from Dad.

"Unexpectedly, a man came running forward, looking scared as he spoke."

Someone's stabbing people in the back of the train! They are killing people. The Black boss is here!

Quick, Quick, Run away! Hurry!

Another man sitting across Naomi spoke, with fear in his eyes and holding on tightly to his phone? , "Is it Dominic Reed? The power behind New York's biggest foundation? The one who controls all the clubs in New York and Texas? The Black Boss?

They said he would stop at nothing and even kill people!"

Just then, a man in black started walking towards them holding his right shoulder as he was wounded and there were blood stains all over his clothes. On sighting him, they all ran away, scampering for safety and shouting, "We are sorry."

Still in pain, the man sat down beside Naomi and, holding his shoulders, Naomi couldn't take her eyes off him as her eyes were filled with compassion after seeing his wounds. Suddenly, she spoke up. "Don't move!" She brought a cotton swab as she began treating his wounds, saying: "

My mom often gets sick, so I know some first aid, take a deep breath and try to hold still".

Dominic, on the other hand, was surprised as he thought to himself, "Everyone else is trying to kill me, but is she trying to save me?

Their eyes met a few times, like a strong force of attraction pulling them closer. She had to speak up as she got up from the seat beside him, “You need to get to the hospital quickly, so your wounds can heal.”

Suddenly, he grabbed her by the hand and swung her over to him to sit on his lap. Looking at him surprised, she said, “What are you doing?” His response made her shocked, “I want to like you, from now on, you are mine,” and kissed her forcefully.

She then spoke up as she jolted up from his lap, “I already have a husband, and do you know who my husband is?” he asked, “Who is your husband?” Stammering, she had to come up with a lie to tell. She then remembered what the other man had said about the fearful mafia boss, Dominic Reed. She said, “My husband is Dominic Reed, the power behind New York’s biggest foundation and the one who controls all the clubs in Texas and New York. He stops at nothing and kills without hesitation!” A smile formed in the corner of Dominic's lips as she continued, “If you mess with another man’s woman, you will be in big trouble, scared now?”

Just then an entourage of men dressed in black came running forward, “We are sorry Boss, we are late. It seems the Lee family has set a trap for us”. Naomi, looking confused at first at the situation, realized that, in fact, the mafia boss himself was the one who had just kissed her, as one of the men spoke up that their boss was the mafia's Dominic Reed, who controls New York City's biggest foundation. She decided to leave the scenario. When he held her back and swung her into his arms, facing her, he said, “Are you trying to run away? My bride…..” Feeling shy all of a sudden, she responded, “What are you talking about? Why would I be your bride?”

Answering, “That’s what you will become, because I have decided to marry you.”

“That’s ridiculous,” she said before throwing him a slap on his face.

His assistant looked shocked in disbelief at what had just happened,

She heard the train announcement that she had gotten to her destination, panicking as she picked up her bag and thought to herself.

“This isn’t the time. I need to get mom surgery money from dad. “As she left, Dominic's personal assistant came rushing forward at his boss saying,“ Can I teach that girl a lesson?” But to his uttermost surprise, his boss said instead,“ Watch your mouth, she is the woman I’m going to marry, you know what to call her, right?”

His personal assistant stammering responded, “Madam? But she slapped you.”

Dominic said, “Hey, she slapped me, not you, besides this is what they call playing hard to get.”

His personal assistant replied, “Oh right?” looking at his boss in disbelief as he said, “You have been single your whole life, right? At the end of today, find out everything about that woman”.

He said, “Yes sir.”

At the West Family house, Clara West, Naomi's step-sister, was seen happily showing off her beautiful dress to her family as her parents were seated.

“Dad, Mom, it's beautiful, isn’t it? “ She said, turning around to show off her brand-new dress.

Her dad responded, “Of course, it’s pretty darling.”

Mom smiled as she said, “Our Clara looked stunning in anything she wears.”

Just then Naomi stepped into the room, Clara never seized an opportunity to make fun of Naomi and said, “Who is this? It’s my precious sister, but, what’s that stain on your clothes? So filthy”.

Clara's Mom, Eunice, contributed more insults to Naomi by saying, “Starting the new year with such bad luck." Naomi's eyes wandered to the price tag on Clara's dress over $200,000,000, as she thought this dress could cover a major part of mom surgical fees.

She turned to her stepmother, saying, “Mom, please save my mother, we really need that money. Ever since you got pregnant 18 years ago, you have taken everything that my grandparents left for me and my mother”.

Eunice, screaming on top of her voice, said, “What do you know about anything, you ungrateful little b***h! “Turning to her father, she said “Dad, please, what? You promised. If you give me the surgery money, I will leave right away. I won’t bother you ever again”.

To her surprise, her dad obliged. “Alright, if you stay home for a few days, I will have the money ready for you soon.” She said, “Thank you,” and walked away.

Clara came rushing to sit beside her father, saying, “You are really not going to give her the money, are you?”

Eunice also said, “Don’t talk nonsense, she’s going to die anyway.”

Jefferson then said, “The Company is struggling right now, Naomi could be useful to us.”

Clara and Eunice then started laughing together, satisfied that, of course, their father was only going to use Naomi's brains.

At the mafia den, Dominic Reed came out of his limousine, lighting a cigarette in his hands and looking fresh and handsome as always, his entourage closely behind him….. He spotted the criminal that had wanted to kill him, captured by his men and blindfolded. He walked closely towards him and removed his blindfold.

Mr Lee, crying immediately he saw him, said, “Boss, that assassination attempt when I tried to kill you……it was all a misunderstanding, please, please, spare my life just this once.”

Dominic, with a gun in his hands, said, “A misunderstanding?” and pointed the gun at his head. Mr Lee’s cries of mercy became louder: “at least spare my family, let them live.”

Dominic ruthlessly said, “One person’s crime, One person should take responsibility. Speaking like a true Lee family man," he dropped the gun on the floor, saying, “You brought this on yourself.”

Mr Lee, with trembling hands, took the gun and shot himself in the head, blood spilled on the floor with his already lifeless body. His personal assistant came to him with all the information he requested of his wife: She is currently living with her father, and works part-time at the hotel. That’s her daily life”.

Closing the file before handing it back to his assistant, Dominic said, “Working part-time? I won’t have my woman do such low-class work” and walked away.

“Where are you going sir? “

He said, “To find my bride.”
