Ginevra stepped out of the bathroom, clad in a luxurious robe, her eyes immediately fixating on the set of pants and a top laid out meticulously on the bed. She had faintly heard the middle-aged woman from last night conveying something to her while she was having her shower, perhaps this was it. Next to the bed, a pair of sleek shoes awaited her.
Ginevra's curiosity was piqued as she observed the perfectly arranged outfit and shoes that awaited her. They were so randomly accurate that she couldn't help but wonder how they had managed to acquire her precise sizes. It was not as if she had discreetly penned them on a note or shared them in hushed conversations.
The question danced in her mind as she took a seat on the edge of the bed, her delicate fingertips caressed the supple leather of the classic black heel. A daring notion prompted her to slide it onto one foot. She picked up one of the heels and slipped it onto her foot. And to her surprise, the shoe embraced her foot with an almost preternatural precision— like a glove, as if it had been custom-made for her.
Now that she was beginning to think of it, it was obvious the gown she had worn wasn't a close choice like she had thought it was, there was no close choice in any of these because they were all her exact measurements.
"Leandro," She mumbled under her breath as her eyes meandered around the room before their gaze fell upon the enigmatic dressing table adorned with an array of cosmetic treasures. And it was quite obvious he was also aware of her preferences.
The man was good at what he does– much like he was capturing her essence with each stroke of a brush or dab of fragrance. A smug smile tugged faintly on her lips as she observed the dressing table. It was clear she was always being watched through the cameras within her apartment. Not like she expected less from them.
She carefully removed the shoe and placed it back beside the bed, her gaze shifting to her reflection in the dressing table's mirror, her own eyes staring back at her. She took a deep breath–
Turning her attention away from the mirror, Ginevra's eyes landed on the side table festoon with an assortment of breakfast items. Approaching the side table, she took in the sight of the breakfast spread—freshly brewed coffee, a plate of delectable pastries, and a bowl of succulent fruits.
Not bad, she thought, taking the coffee in her hand, Ginevra walked over to the window, drawn by an inexplicable intuition. But just then, she caught sight of Alonzo stepping out of a car, seeming to be returning from somewhere.
Driven by curiosity as she saw Leandro stepping out from the building and walking toward Alonzo, Ginevra gently opened the window, her ears straining to catch even a whisper of their conversation. Alas, she could only decipher fragments through lip reading, as their distance prevented the words from reaching her ears. Though, one phrase stood out clearly—Alonzo assuring Leandro that it had been taken care of.
Suddenly, as if sensing her presence, Leandro turned his gaze toward the window. Ginevra's heart skipped a beat and in an instant, she pried from the window.
Leaning against the window frame, her mind teemed with questions about what they were working on. What had been "Taken care of"?
Though, after a while, Ginevra turned discreetly to gaze out of the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Alonzo or Leandro. However, to her disappointment, neither of them was in sight.
Just as she turned away from the window, contemplating their sudden disappearance, a faint knock resonated from the door, jolting her from her contemplation. Swiftly she moved towards the seat by the breakfast spread, and with a quick, composed conduct, she settled herself, poised to greet whoever stood on the other side of the door.
The door swung open and Alonzo walked in. "We'll be leaving in twenty minutes," Alonzo stated firmly, his eyes fixed on her.
Ginevra's brows furrowed slightly as she met his gaze. "To where?" she inquired, it wasn't like she had planned any movement with them or something, so why was she included?
"Portofino," Alonzo replied simply and with a curt nod, he turned and left the room, leaving her to the privacy of the room.
Ginevra walked out of the building, now dressed in the meticulously arranged outfit of pants and a top, accompanied by the classic black heel. Her steps were elegant as she made her way towards the waiting car. As she drew nearer, an escort pulled open the door of the luxurious, long black vehicle.
But her gaze was immediately drawn to Leandro, who stood some steps away from the car, engrossed in a phone call. His gloved hand held the phone to his ear, his back turned to her, dressed in a stylish navy blue wool cashmere long coat, with his grey pants slightly reaching against his Italian leather shoe.
Without a word, she gracefully slid into the car, taking her seat. Moments later, Leandro concluded his call and joined her, settling into the seat opposite her.
The engine roared to life, and the car smoothly pulled out from the grand building. Ginevra's gaze lingered on Leandro for a brief moment, curiosity flickering in her eyes.
Leandro's gaze shifted to her, briefly taking in her appearance. His lips curled into a slight smirk, and he uttered a curt compliment that held a hint of amusement. "I must say, you don't look entirely dreadful in those clothes."
Ginevra arched an eyebrow, her own smirk matching his. She leaned back, crossing her legs and meeting his gaze with a playful glint in her eyes. "Well, since we are indulging in compliments, I suppose I can say the same for you. You perhaps don't look too bad yourself."
He found her quick wit and playful banter intriguing, causing a suppressed chuckle to ripple through his chest. His gaze lingered on her, a glint of mirth dancing in his eyes, but he restrained himself from fully expressing his amusement.
Instead, he maintained a composed conduct, though a faint twinkle of laughter remained in his gaze, and then he took his gaze to the window.
The convoy of cars glided to a halt near the shimmering private plane, its sleek fuselage exuding an air of exclusivity with an allure. Ginevra's eyes slightly widened, a delicate gasp escaping her lips as she beheld the breathtaking sight before her. The anticipation in her chest mingled with a tinge of surprise, for she had never imagined herself stepping foot into such a luxurious airborne haven.
As the car door swung open, a cool breeze caressed Ginevra's face, ruffling her hair and heightening her senses. Leandro emerged first, his presence commanding attention and respect. She followed suit, her heart racing with the two sensations of trepidation and exhilaration. Stepping onto the tarmac, she couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves and excitement coursing through her veins.
Discreetly, Ginevra's gaze flickered across the scene, taking in the panoramic view of the private plane standing regally before them. Its polished exterior shimmered under the sun's golden embrace.
Leandro's confident stride urged her forward, and she followed suit, her steps faltering ever so slightly. The elegant interior welcomed them, offering a haven of comfort and opulence.
A female attendant approached, her professional manners accompanied by a warm smile. She directed her attention to Leandro, checking on his needs before takeoff, ensuring his comfort for the journey ahead, and Ginevra almost rolled her eyes at her voice. Seeming not to like the attendant whatsoever.
The attendant's voice, laden with courtesy, echoed in the cabin. Leandro gestured towards Ginevra, indicating that the attendant should attend to her instead.
The attendant gracefully made her way towards Ginevra, her manners impeccable. With a polite tone, "Ma'am, would you like some coffee or perhaps a glass of wine?"
Ginevra glanced up at the attendant, her expression veiled with a hint of indifference. She briefly considered the offer before giving a curt shake of her head. "No, thank you," she replied, her voice cool and dismissive. She had no desire to engage in small talk or entertain the attendant's pleasantries– she was pissed enough just seeing her around.
"Very well, ma'am. If you require anything at all, please don't hesitate to let me know,"
But Ginevra's attention was already on the window. But somehow, even though Leandro was in a conversation with Alonzo, his focus was silently on her.
"The drugs have all been taken to the warehouse" The words seeped into Ginevra's ear but she refused to turn. Hoping to get more from their conversation. "Fizo is in Genoa, he's keeping an eye on the new shipment,” Alonzo reported.
