With each passing second, the room seemed to shrink, the tension reaching its peak as Leandro's interrogation reached its climactic end. His knuckles were stained with the blood of his victim, evidence of the ruthless determination that fueled his actions. As the realization of his impending fate settled in, the prisoner's voice trembled with desperate force.
"I told you everything I know! Please, I can still be of use to you! Let me work undercover, I'll do anything!" The man's pleas filled the room, his desperation echoing off the cold, unforgiving walls.
Leandro's gaze remained cold and detached, his heart impervious to the man's pleas. He clicked the pistol, the sound slicing through the air, drowning out the desperate cries for mercy.
The man's voice grew more frantic, his words strained with desperation. "Wait! Please, I beg you! Spare my life!" He clung to the last threads of hope, his voice a mere whisper in the face of imminent death.
"Please... I have a family... Spare me... I beg you..."
Leandro's expression remained stoic, his finger hovering on the trigger. He paid no heed to the man's desperate pleas, his resolve unshaken. With a final cold glance, he silenced the prisoner's pleas with a dismissive wave.
"Your words mean nothing to me," Leandro sneered, his voice icy and devoid of mercy. "You should have thought of that before going against me. I told you I will show you things worst than death if you don't give me the information I need– I never said I won't kill you if you gave"
And just then, Leandro pulled the trigger, the room was engulfed in a swift gunshot. The desperate cries were silenced, and his final plea hung in the air, unanswered. His life extinguished in an instant.
"Dispose of the body," he commanded, his voice firm and commanding. With purposeful strides, he exited the room and made his way back towards the main building.
Soon, he found solace in the seclusion of his private shower. The cascading water mingled with the crimson trails, tracing down his hands in rivulets.
The water trickled from his skin. Each droplet traced a mesmerizing path, creating a kaleidoscope of glimmering hues against his bronzed flesh. The water flowed, an intricate dance, down his back where the cruel mark of a bullet's impact marred his skin. It journeyed across his chiseled form, accentuating the contours and curves that were both a testament to strength and allure. Veins stood prominent beneath his taut skin, pulsing with raw vitality, weaving a tapestry of resilience and power.
The fresh bruises on his knuckles, evidence of his recent encounter.
Leandro was seated in the plush depths of a lavish armchair, strategically positioned near the grand window of his expansive bedroom. Bathed in the ethereal glow of moonlight, his chiseled frame commanded attention, every sinew and contour illuminated with a mesmerizing allure. Shirtless he was.
With a deliberate and methodical grace, Leandro single-handedly wrapped a cotton bandage around his bruised and battered fist. Each turn of the cloth tightened his resolve, sealing the wounds inflicted by his relentless pursuit of dominance.
Just as he completed the final wrap of the bandage, a resolute knock echoed through the door and Alonzo entered with a measured stride.
His face carefully neutral. "Sir, the task has been successfully completed."
Leandro's piercing gaze locked onto Alonzo, his voice firm. "Excellent. Now, I have another assignment for you. I want you to personally investigate all the residential properties owned by Gerardo, as well as any other properties he has in the vicinity. Leave no stone unturned, and do it discreetly. I expect a comprehensive report once you're finished."
"Yes, sir. I will conduct a thorough investigation and provide you with the necessary findings." Alonzo's response was succinct and unwavering.
And just as Alonzo turned to leave, Leandro's commanding voice halted him in his tracks. "Wait, there's one more thing. Retrieve the records of the hidden cameras from Ginevra's apartment. I need them immediately."
Alonzo's brows furrowed slightly, a faint flicker of surprise crossing his face, but he nodded. "Understood, sir. I will retrieve the records and deliver them to you promptly."
Without further ado, Alonzo nodded and swiftly exited the room, leaving Leandro to his thoughts. However, just as Leandro contemplated his next move, his cell phone vibrated on the side desk, drawing his attention.
Smoothly, he picked up the phone, wiping across the screen before bringing it to his ear as he stood by the window. The cool breeze brushed against his face as he prepared himself for the conversation that awaited.
"Yes, Father," he greeted, his voice steady and composed.
Leandro listened attentively, his eyes betraying no emotion as his father's words resonated through the phone. He absorbed the instructions and expectations conveyed to him.
"I will be a bit delayed, Father," he responded, his voice resonating with a low, deep tone. "There are pressing matters I must attend to before our meeting."
A brief pause ensued as Leandro absorbed the response from the other end of the line. His resolve remained unyielding as he firmly declared, "4 PM, then."
With those words, the call came to an end.
He tossed the phone and reached for the pack of cigarettes on the nearby side desk. With a practised motion, he extracted a cigarette, placing it between his lips. He reached into his pocket, retrieved a lighter, and with a flick of his thumb, a flame emerged, illuminating his features in a warm glow.
Bringing the flame to the end of the cigarette, he took a slow, deliberate drag, allowing the smoke to fill his lungs. The nicotine coursed through his veins, momentarily soothing the relentless tension that had gripped him. Exhaling a plume of smoke, he watched it swirl and dissipate into the air, a fleeting release of his inner turmoil.
Leandro remained standing for a while longer, savoring the solitude and the quiet respite before he finally settled into the plush depths of the armchair. Leaning his head back against the cushion, his strong neck muscles became more visible, displaying what looks like a perfect sculpture being. The cigarette dangled between his fingers, releasing tendrils of smoke that coiled and danced in the air.
Though his thoughts were momentarily interrupted by the persistent ringing of his cell phone. He reached for it, swiped across the screen, and brought it to his ear, the cigarette still clasped between his fingers.
"Yes, Alonzo?” he muttered, his voice calm and commanding.
“The records have been sent, sir," Alonzo's voice came through, succinct and to the point.
Leandro's eyes shifted calculatedly towards the tablet resting by the side of the massive bed. The device beckoned to him.
