Chapter 15Several police cruisers were parked sideways in front of the 10th Precinct building, five uniformed officers leaning against them. Off duty or just waiting for a call to action, they waved at Jimmy with friendly familiarity. Should he take that as a good sign that a private detective was so welcome within the NYPD? Or was it just a nod of respect toward their Captain, acknowledging the man everyone knew he was sleeping with, even as it went undiscussed? Life was complex.
