Saturday Dates Don't Do Well II Sunday. Sunday came in a blur. Last time I checked, I was just counting the days, feeling excited, about the game with Snoopy. Now it’s here. It felt like I just blinked, and it’s there— right in front of my eyes. I woke up early today so I can prepare myself for this soccer date with Jett. It’s nothing new. I’ve always wanted to make myself presentable during dates so guys will like me even more and the harder the impact when I leave, but of course, that varies, and it all depends on how I interpret the type of girl they want. Snoopy, for example, looks like he’d been with a suffocating girl. I’d assume he would prefer to be with someone less than that – someone who can make him do things the way he wants. Freely, you know. Like he doesn’t need to be cautious of what he does. He’s sweet, and he seems to be the type of guy who would give everything for a girl. It’s a waste he’s going to be with me who wouldn’t be able to give him all of that. Maybe if I was more decent, he’d get into a relationship he actually deserves. I can at least give him the attention he needs though, that’s good enough. When I reached the stadium that he and I talked about, Jett was already standing by the entrance waiting for me. I lifted my hands up in the air to wave at him which he immediately sees. “I’m here!” I walked to where he was, and he looked flustered with what he saw – me. I dressed up, after all. A good cropped top and high-waisted jean shorts with a baseball cap on. “I’m not late, am I?” It took a few seconds before he replied. “Yeah, no. You’re a lot earlier than I expected.” I looked away, bobbing my head in relief. “That’s good to know.” “You look great, Lois.” The compliment I’ve waited has arrived. I turned to him with a grateful smile. “Thank you! I’m actually wearing this top for the first time. A g—” guy bought it for me? No. I stopped when I realized what I was about to say. “A friend gave it to me before and I never got the chance to use it.” He nodded smiling. “Thought it could go well with these shorts.” Jett was trying not to look down out of respect so he just nodded and smiled with what I said. He was truly a gentleman on his own. Literally the nicest one I’ve met so far and that speaks without my intentions of flirting with him. “Why are you wearing that?” Huh. “It’s showing up so much of your skin.” I literally had goosebumps. “Aiden, you… came…” “Yeah,” I turned and saw Aiden standing at my back so casually as if he had just not ruined something for me. “What the hell are you doing here?” I gritted my teeth in frustration, hiding the fact that I was mad that he came butting in a date – friendly date. He walked up to me and wrapped his jacket around my waist, securely tying it around me like I was his pet or something. “Cover that up, Jesus. You’re going to a game, not a bar.” He tied the knot so hard making me gasp at how he was doing it. So rough but I kinda liked it? Oh god… I did not just think that. “I hope you don’t mind me joining, Jett. Gwynn actually told me about it.” My eyes widened at how he called me in front of Jett. Aiden knew how much I hate it when he calls me Gwynn in front of other people. “And I was bored at home so I decided to come.” Bored, my ass. I looked back at Jett who looked taken aback by Aiden’s sudden parenting. I could also tell that he was disappointed to not spend the day with me alone. I laughed awkwardly hoping he’d see through me and tell Aiden to go away, but I was sure Jett wasn’t capable of doing that. “He can go.” I pushed Aiden away and stood back closer to Jett so he knows I’d rather spend it with him alone and without this dufus, Aiden. “He just really— He doesn’t even have a ticket.” I snorted, glaring at Aiden who wouldn’t take a hint – who refused to take the hint, this dumbass. He flashed his ticket in the air with so much pride. Like his life depended on it. “I do, actually. My friend said he couldn’t make it so I thought I should buy it from him.” “No, you do—” “It’s okay. We can watch the game together.” Jett smiled like the kind angel he was, cutting me off while trying to get rid of my stupid best friend. “I’ll go buy us something to eat while watching. You can wait for me here.” I smiled at him, nodding, so I can have a one on one talk with my best friend in hopes I could still make him leave even though I knew he was stubborn about things like these. When Jett was off our sight, I frowned and turned to Aiden with a scowl. “What the hell, buddy?!” I exclaimed, crossing my arms at him, aggressively turning to him. “What the hell do you think you’re doing here?! What did you— What the hell?!” I exclaimed in frustration, trying to untangle the knot he made with his jacket around my waist. “Get this off! They’re ruining my outfit!” “Gwynn Bartel,” He crossed his arms. “The stadium will be filled with boys and, God forbids, perverts, and you’re going in there in that useless garment you’re using? It’s barely covering you!” “I don’t care!” I yelled in frustration. “I always wear shorts! It doesn’t even matter at this point. If men are more decent, they would keep their eyes off and not check people out like total creeps.” “Well, it matters to me.” He raised his chin up. I rolled my eyes, grunting in disbelief. “Everything okay?” I turned to my back, smiling at Jett who had bun hotdogs and drinks over his arms. The poor baby carrying everything by himself. “Yeah! Super! I’m just so…” I turned to Aiden wrapping my arms around his neck to show how fakely excited I am to share this moment with him. “So happy my best friend is here!” Jett chuckled. “Go help him!” I slapped Aiden’s butt, which caused him to glance at me sassily, and he goes to help Jett with the food he bought for us anyway. We headed inside the auditorium to find a good spot to watch the game. I walked close to Jett, so I get to sit with him during the entirety of the game. I won’t let Aiden ruin this for me. I’ll just have to be faster than him. The stadium was almost full, the players were already warming up by the field. “Is this okay?” Jett stopped walking and turned to me asking if we were about to take good enough seats. “Are you okay with this spot?” I bobbed my head, pretending that I cared when I just, honestly, wanted to sit next to him. “This looks fine.” When we were about to sit, Aiden suddenly sat over the chair where I was supposed to sit. I glared at him but he pretended he couldn’t see me or any threatening glare I was giving. This guy’s really pushing my red buttons… I turned to Jett who looked surprised. “Can you just move one chair so I can sit…” “Yeah, sure.” When he moved to the next chair, Aiden followed him and takes the chair I was supposed to use again. Jett looked at Aiden in confusion. By now, he should be realizing that he was doing it on purpose so I wouldn’t get to sit next to Jett. My whole face twitched as I stared at Aiden, comfortably sitting as if I wasn’t standing across him like a poor girl with no seat. “This is a really good spot, man. Cheers.” Aiden bobbed his head teasingly, still not meeting my gaze. I clenched my jaws. Fine, then. I walked to the other side of Jett which was the last vacant seat in the row that would let me sit next to him. “I’ll just stay here.” I said, glaring at Aiden from the other side. Jett turned to me, leaning to see if I could see the view clearly. “Are you sure? There’s a post in your line. We can switch if you want.” He really would do anything in his power to give someone what they need and want. This man deserved so much more than what he experienced. “Oh no! I’m sick and tired of being with that man!” I emphasized making sure it makes an impact on Aiden. I saw him roll his eyes as a response which made me smirk. “I can still see most of the field. It’s fine. Thanks for buying the food, by the way!” Jett smiled.  I have to admit, I kind of forgot that my agenda was to make Jett like me but this game… I never thought local soccer plays would be as fun to watch as those international ones I’m often invested in. Jett and I were so into the game that we got so devastated when they announced that there have been technical difficulties. “It’s been thirty minutes.” I frowned, looking down the field to see if there was any development on their problem, but it didn’t seem like anything was happening. “Yeah, I’m starting to get hungry again.” I turned to him laughing. “You can have my hotdog. I barely took a bite. I’m not that hungry so here you go.” “Can I?” I nodded in assurance. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” Jett stared at the hotdog I handed him. He showed and waved me the hotdog like a kid as if asking for permission if he can really eat it so, I chuckled, looking away and finding this gesture pure and cute. He was about to take a bite when the hotdog suddenly flew off his hand. What in the… My eyes widened when I saw Aiden and his hand in the air in a manner that he just slapped the food away from Jett. Jett’s eyes followed the food in an attempt to catch it until it fell down the floor miserably, and he was left frozen in shock that Aiden just did that. “There was a fly! I had to do it.” Fly? Aiden met my eyes and I can almost hear his celebratory song inside his head for successfully ruining this day for me from start to this very moment. “I couldn’t let you eat that knowing a fly just, you know…” Fly, my ass again! “It’s okay. I’ll just go buy another one.” When Jett left to buy another one as he said, I pulled Aiden by the collar of his shirt, fed up by his actions. He looked away, blinking his eyes. He knows he was doing something wrong and he’s still doing it. “AIDEN MITCHELL!” I exclaimed, clenching my fist over his collar. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” I saw him gulp. “Are you really going to ruin everything today?! Go home already and just do your freaking essay or something!” He still won’t meet my gaze. “W-What? It’s not like he’s going to like you less now anyway.” I creased my brows. “That’s not the point!” “W-What then?” I sighed and released him from my grip. “Whatever.” There’s no point arguing with him. “It’s not like this is the first time you did this anyway.” I sat back to my chair, trying to calm myself. “You’re unbelievable, Aiden Lee Mitchell.” It’s been hours. Jett and I were holding our breaths hoping that the Soul Team, the team we were rooting for from start, would make the score so they can win. The player ran and ran, and we were both clenching, watching in tense. Score! “AHHH!” I stood, jumping and screaming my lungs out to celebrate the victory of the team with the rest of the watchers who were rooting for the same team. “They won!” I turned to Jett who jumped up and down with me. I was ready to hug him when Aiden suddenly jumped between us, shouting and serving as a human divider. “They won! Yes!” he jumped by himself, with both his arms wrapped on me and Jett. “That last goal was pretty sick! Right?!” I almost hurled at how terrible his acting was. He wasn’t even watching. I could see from my peripheral view that he was more bothered of the fact that Jett and I were laughing together and actually enjoying the game. Jett nodded in agreement, awkwardly. I mean, we were both ready to hug each other if only Aiden didn’t butt in like this. God, I never realized how annoying it was to have a best friend who likes you so much. “Lois—” “They won! They won! They won!” Aiden pulled Jett away from me jumping excitedly – excited to pull him away from me, that is. Jett looked like he wanted to talk to me but having Aiden do that to him made that impossible. I’m sure he was too nice and shy to push him away. I smiled at him, raising my thumb in the air. I don’t know what for, I just did. The crowd that wore blue shirts in front of us booed out loud, making me frown. “In your face, loser!” I yelled at the audience that basically yelled that the Soul Team sucked. “Yeah, in your face, loser!” My smirk trembled watching Aiden acting this way. He was never been a fan of soccel, and I’m sure he still was not. How can he be so annoying and cute at the same time? God.
