"Let’s go to the room first," Tessa said.
Althea hadn’t said a word. She just watched me like I was in a horror movie.
"I need to get some water, excuse me," she finally said, then bolted out of our sight.
Tessa, Beatrice and I moved into the room fast.
Tessa locked the door behind us. I went straight to the bathroom and sat in the water closet, my mind racing.
I’d never seen that woman before except the time she came to call for Jason.
So why was she acting like that? What was the point of bullying me?
And she hadn’t even given me a clue about what I’d done wrong.
I came out of the bathroom still turning it over my head.
"Do you think they know who I am?" I asked, my voice low and quiet.
Beatrice’s eyes went wide. "That is super dangerous."
