I got to the front of Jason’s office. I knocked twice before opening the door. I entered quietly. Jason stood at the window, hands folded. The ring on his finger caught the light. "Sir, you called me," I said. "Sit," he said. "Thank you," I said and sat down. I placed my hands on my lap and waited for him to speak. My heart raced as he turned around. I studied his face for a few seconds. It didn’t look angry, but I couldn't read it. "I did some research," he said. "On your uncle." I exhaled once. Stupid to think he heard us.
