Let Me tell you a Story

Tension.

"I guess the mailman just can't do his job." Ava smiled at Casanova who stood at her door with mail in his hand.

"I'm tellin you. Folks done gave my s**t to old lady Maye." He said and they both smirked.

As he looked at her they both thought of a night they shared a month ago.

Ava had finally gone out for some drinks and ran into Cas while out. The two spent the night talking and she even opened up about being married. Something she wish she hadn't but it was too late. He asked what happened and she told him the truth, he beat her into misery and by the time she left she didn't know who she was anymore. She was still figuring it out. Cas in return told her she was unique and people like her deserve happy endings. One thing led to another drink and the two found themselves back at his place and her moaning out in pleasure.

"Same thing happened to me the other day and I tried to give him his mail and his damn girl practically jumped on me." She laughed pointing to Key's house as Cas looked surprised.

"This neighborhood." She joked.

"Thanks tho." She said grabbing her mail and he nodded.

"How you been?" He asked her.

He knew exactly why she had run from him although he wished she hadn't. Cas figured whatever small talk he could get he would take. Ava was the only woman who avoided anyone and everyone practically, he was still surprised to have seen her out that night but didn't regret it.

"Great." She smiled.

"Really?" He asked surprised.

"Yea, I got that job." She smiled.

"Oh, fa real?" He asked and she nodded.

"Librarian Ava." She did a courtesy.

She definitely wasn't a girl from the hood and he could tell.

"So what does that mean fa ya gym time?" He teased.

She laughed because she did go to the gym but also still took self-defense classes.

Ava told herself in this life she would be protected even if she had to be her own hero. In the meanwhile, she would just enjoy a simple life. Save and once she got some work history under her belt she would move again.

"Oh okay check you out. Let me take you out to celebrate." He said and she gave him a side-eye.

"You said you don't date niggas who sell dope. Me, I'm jus a good ass friend." He offered and she laughed.

Ava sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes before looking at him with a smirk.

"See yo ass like a nigga but it's coo. I'll let you friend zone me cause you look good." He said and she laughed.

She hadn't really made friends but figured she could somewhat consider him one.

Cas was the only person she had opened up to in years. His profession made her undesirable to her although every inch of him was attractive. She thought he was moving like her for a new start, her new start was a new life and she found out his was to run the streets, hell when he asked her for weed he was just scoping out the competition.

"Well since we're just friends yes." She said and he smiled.

"Bet. Ima go make some runs and ima be back bout 9?" He said and she nodded.

"Or I can meet you." She said and he smiled.

"Okay, ima put somethin nice together." He said and she nodded before he turned and jogged off.

Ava had to admit things had been going well.

Not only was she in shape and healthy but she got a good reliable job and that was part one of her plan.

As Ava thought about her night with Cas chills went through her body.

She shook her head.

"Friends." She reminded herself.

"Oh Cass." Ava hissed as he pinned her to the sink of the restaurant bathroom.

The night had gone better than expected.

He asked Ava to meet him downtown and had a reservation set up.

It was actually a nice upscale restaurant in a nice area.

She came dressed up and he had to admit, her in that dress only made him want to peel it off of her.

Ava had only excused herself to the bathroom because she had too much to drink.

She was planning on just splashing water on her face to sober up and to snap out her thoughts.

What she didn't expect was Cas to follow and them to be in the bathroom f*****g like they currently were.

It just seemed to happen so quickly.

After he kissed her she found her arms around his neck and him lifting her onto the sink. Her dress was hiked up as he held her panties to the side thrusting in and out of her. The look in his eyes let her know there was no stopping him. That's what she told herself as to how they ended up here and her enjoying nearly every moment of it.

Ava bit down on her lip to quiet down.

He wanted to grab a handful of her hair but instead licked all on her neck before biting it.

A quickie in the bathroom wasn't what either of them expected it but was what they both felt they needed at the moment.

As quiet as she tried to be it was nearly impossible and he could tell as he slowed down but she pulled him closer making him smirk as he continued with his pace.

It only let him know that she wanted it, she wanted him.

There was banging at the door as he covered her mouth pushing her legs further apart as he stroked her deeper.

Ava was about to scream as she covered her mouth with both hands over his and Cas promised he would hear her for real next time as he felt the rush of air come out her mouth and nostrils.

"Damn." He said slowing his stroke cumming with her as someone still banged at the door.

"Hold up damn." He said not caring who was on the other side of the door as he let go of her mouth and she sat up.

He tried to kiss her again but she pulled back and pulled his waist from hers.

She nearly moaned as she pushed him out of her.

"Damn, what's up?" He said as both of them looked at each other panting.

"That shouldn't have happened." She said getting down from the sink and turning around.

"Again." She sighed.

"Like hell, it shouldn't have." He looked at her fixing her loose hair.

He didn't get Ava sometimes but that didn't mean he liked her any less as he reached for her waist.

"Cas move." She said fixing her underwear and pulling down her dress.

Ava was embarrassed.

She didn't know what it was but it felt like s****l tension between them, an intense chemistry as soon as he touched her. This was the second time and each time she didn't stop it she just let it happen and without a condom at that. She knew how risky things could be with someone she didn't know but even more so with someone in his lifestyle.

"Damn chill out for a minute." He said stopping her from going for the door as he fixed his pants.

"I had fun and I really appreciate tonight but give me space." She said practically running out of the bathroom.

"Fuck." He let out not really sure where he went wrong

"Nigga move." He said as another man tried to enter the bathroom.

Cas made his way out and noticed the table was empty and the only thing left was money on the table.

"Her ass paid?" He said surprised but he let it go.

He wasn't going to chase someone who damn sure didn't want to be chased.

He looked down at his phone at the few missed calls and decided to call his men back.

Cas walked outside of the restaurant seeing Ava pull off and he turned the other way.

"Yea nigga what's goin on?" He said speaking into the phone.

"Na I had plans but that s**t wrapped up earlier than expected." He said walking off to his car.

"Na, leave his lil ass alone. I got a plan in motion. He's goin to be very useful." He said with a nod meaning every word.

"Na his OG is really that weird nigga on my block Key." He said grinding his teeth.

Cas didn't like Key but that was for his own reasons.

"Na do as I say." He said before hanging up.

He had been seeing Key make moves and he knew what he was trying to do. He knew Key better than Key knew himself. He knew that he had been a part of the game and as much as he said he was out of it, he eased his way back in. It was inevitable with men like Key. Cas knew he was untrustworthy and that's why as he slowly took over the blocks bit by bit Key hadn't been approached.

He figured in due time but until then he was going to call his connect and continue on his path.

Whatever 'plug' everyone had been used to was going to change.

Cas was now the plug, the connect hell he was going to be ready to be God in the streets and he told himself how things with Ava were going was best. He didn't have time for love and she was the type of girl you change your whole life for and he knew one thing for sure, he wasn't ready to change not when he had things to do first.
