Class Is In Session

A sense of excitement and wonder filled the air as Crystal, Kay, and Jenny eagerly talked about their epic camping trip over the weekend. They had followed Mr. Matthews' advice from their class assignment and witnessed the mesmerizing meteor shower in the great outdoors. Luckily, for both Kay and Jenny Crystal does not recall what happened when she returned home night before. But even now, back in the classroom, Crystal couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched while in the woods. However, she also felt a deep connection to the wilderness, as if it was calling out to her to explore further. As they sat down in class, Kay couldn't help but think back to the urban legends and myths her grandmother had shared about supernatural beings. She had excitedly shared these tales around the campfire with her friends, adding to the sense of adventure and mystery of their trip. Jenny couldn't resist mentioning Crystal's funny expression when she seemed lost in thought, gazing off into the dark woods. Crystal had eventually retreated to her tent, but the memory of that moment stayed with Jenny. As the bell rang, the girls settled into their seats and Mr. Matthews began his lesson. However, his attention soon turned to Crystal, who he asked to come up to the front of the class. Everyone's curiosity piqued as she shared her experience of watching the meteor shower. It was truly an extraordinary experience. The sheer beauty of it all made me realize that there's so much more to life than what we know. It felt majestic, magical, and spiritual all at once," Crystal said. But just as Crystal finished her sentence, the obnoxious school bully, Gary, interrupted with his rough tone. "Who cares, weirdo? Just sit down and shut up, nerd," Gary sneered, warming up a piece of paper, taking a straw, and spitting it towards Crystal when Mr. Matthews wasn’t looking. "What the heck was that for? I didn’t do anything to you," Crystal responded, glaring at Gary, who sat two seats behind her. "Yeah, your existence is quite bothersome. Hey Jenn, how about you and I meet after school and have some more fun? You could ditch this loser," Gary said, turning to Jenny, who sat next to Crystal on her right side, while Kay sat on her left. "No thanks. It’s not worth trying to get with somebody who has a needle-in-a-haystack type PP," Jenny replied, as the girls started giggling. "Oh, you’ll be moaning my name, begging for more," Gary retorted. "More like yawning," Jenn said, laughing. "You’re the loser here," Kay added. Gary's face started to turn red from the humiliation as other classmates giggled. "Hey, come on, guys. You should leave him alone. It’s not his fault that he has issues down there," Crystal said, trying to hold back a laugh and be serious at the same time. "You’re lucky you’re a girl. You know what? Screw that, I’ll kick your ass after school, you stupid little b***h," Gary said, throwing a pencil straight at Crystal’s face. "Dude, she tried to defend you and you’re still being an asshole to her. Come on," Brian, who was sitting next to Gary, said. "I don’t give a damn. I hate that b***h. She thinks she’s better than everybody because she’s so damn smart," Gary angrily replied. "Clearly, she doesn’t think that way. Nerd, yes, but obviously, she doesn’t think she’s better than anybody," Brian said. "Whatever. Those who hate Crystal, raise your hand," Gary said, hoping other classmates would join in. But before anyone could respond, Mr. Matthews quickly intervened, silencing Gary and reprimanding him for his behavior. "That's enough, Santino. Be quiet or I'll have to send you to the principal's office," Mr. Matthews yelled from the front of the class, his tone stern and commanding. The tension dissipated as Mr. Matthews continued with the lesson, but the girls couldn't help but exchange knowing glances, grateful for their fantastic camping trip and the memories that brought smiles to their faces. As the final bell rang and school let out, Crystal walked home, continuously replaying the events of the past weekend. "Hey, asshole. Crystal, I’m talking to you," Gary shouted as he pulled his beat-up old Ford Taurus to the side of the road and hopped out. Crystal continued to walk, ignoring Gary as she listened to music on her headphones. Suddenly, she felt a jolt as Gary yanked her back, ripping off her headphones and backpack, causing her to fall to the ground. She looked up and saw Gary towering over her. "I told you I was gonna kick your ass. I don’t care if you’re a girl or not. You’ve pissed me off, and now even the girl who would’ve been my girlfriend hates me because of you," Gary snarled, cracking his knuckles. Crystal stood up, dusting herself off, still in shock at the situation unfolding in front of her. As she bent down to retrieve her backpack, Gary delivered a jump kick to her chest, knocking her to the ground once more. "Stay down if you know what's good for you," Gary snarled. Crystal coughed and struggled to her feet. "Do you realize you’re older than me because you were held back? You’ve not only assaulted a woman but a minor. That's against the law," she said, clutching her side. "Not if they don’t find your body," Gary retorted. "Look, whatever issue you have with Jenny, it's not my fault. It's between you and her. If you needed a tutor for school, I would have helped you, but not now," Crystal said, trying to walk away. "Shut up," Gary snapped, punching her in the face and knocking her to the ground. He grabbed her backpack, got into his vehicle, and sped off, leaving her unconscious. At the same time, Jensen was driving back from a meeting with the local alpha about securing their borders. He had an uneasy feeling. "Dad sold him that small portion, thinking it wouldn't be an issue with all these hybrids," Jensen said, driving the black SUV with Parker in the back seat. "Yeah, but it’s like having personal bodyguards. And you don’t want to piss him off; not even the Lycan King can help us then," Parker replied. "I'm not being cocky, but if Roman wasn’t so stubborn, I could take him," Jensen said, smirking at his brother in the mirror. "His son is feisty, isn't he?" Parker remarked. "I only met him briefly, but wow, seriously, dude, be gentle." Suddenly, Jensen slammed on the brakes, causing Parker to lurch forward. "Ouch, watch it," Parker said, rubbing his head. "It’s Roman. He’s telling me to go to her," Jensen said, breathing heavily. "Go to who?" Parker asked. "My mate," Jensen responded. "Go, I’ll be fine," Parker replied. Jensen jumped out of the truck and ran towards the high school. As he got closer, he saw a Ford Taurus speeding away and an unconscious girl on the sidewalk. "No, no, no," Jensen muttered as he checked Crystal’s pulse. "I don’t want to be your mate, but I don’t want you dead either." "Let’s carry her into the woods and shift," Roman urged. "It’s 3 o’clock in the afternoon. People will see us," Jensen protested. "Then take her back to the truck," Roman insisted. Listening to his wolf, Jensen scooped Crystal up and placed her in the back seat, while Parker moved to the front. "What are you doing?" Parker asked. "Just drive into the woods. I’m going to shift and heal her," Jensen replied. "What about that car?" Parker asked. "I’m not worried. I can track him by scent," Jensen said, starting to undress as Crystal lay unconscious in his lap. Parker pulled over to a hidden area off the road. Jensen shifted into his wolf form, letting Roman take over. Roman approached Crystal, licking her wounds, cleaning her cuts, and trying to heal her bruises. "We need to stay with her to ensure she heals properly. Mates heal better when together," Roman said. "I don’t think it’s a good idea. Her phone is ringing," Jensen replied, noticing the phone in her pocket. "I want to stay with my mate," Roman demanded. "We helped her. That’s enough. We need to go before she wakes up," Jensen insisted. "Why not?" Roman asked. "It’ll look odd for a grown man to be with a young girl," Jensen said. "You’re not that much older. We could stay like this as a wolf. She’s not afraid of us," Roman said proudly. "Four years is still a lot, and I’m not ready," Jensen said, forcing himself to shift back to human form. "You’ll regret this," Roman warned, retreating to the back of Jensen’s mind. Parker handed Jensen his clothes. "Why aren’t you staying to help her?" he asked. "I have my reasons. Let’s get back on the road," Jensen replied, taking the clothes. "Is that her phone ringing?" Parker asked. "Before that wakes her up," Jensen said. "You’re such an ass. Let’s go," Parker replied, getting into the driver’s seat. They drove off in the direction of the beat-up vehicle they had seen earlier, leaving Crystal behind but not forgotten. "Where are you going?" Jensen asked. "To find the dickhead who did that to your future mate," Parker replied. "He's a human boy; you need to be careful," Jensen warned. Moments later, they parked their vehicle in the old trailer park. Following the scent, they approached a beat-up old double-wide trailer. Knocking on the door, they were immediately hit by the same smell that was on Crystal, mixed with an overwhelming amount of Axe body spray. "Who the f**k are you and what do you want?" Gary answered the door in his boxer shorts. "Hey there, yeah, I’m just here to get back the backpack you took from a friend of mine," Parker said. "I don’t have any backpack from your stupid little friend. She probably lost it walking home," Gary retorted. "Now, how the heck would you know who we’re talking about when you don’t even know who we are?" Parker replied. "Please, it’s obvious. What are you, her f**k buddies? Were you three having orgies or something with that little nerd? I thought she was just a lame loser virgin," Gary sneered, laughing and nearly shutting the door in their faces. Jensen grabbed the door, ripping it off the hinges and throwing it behind him, where it landed on Gary’s piece-of-s**t car. "Hey, what the hell, man?" Gary exclaimed. Both Parker and Jensen stepped inside the rat-infested trailer, where porn blared on an old TV in the makeshift living room. A TV dinner tray held lotion and toilet paper. "Dude, you’re just sick," Parker said as he picked up a lamp beside the couch and smashed it through the TV to shut it off. "Look, man, I don’t want any trouble, all right? You can have the backpack. It’s right there. I was just gonna steal her homework, erase her name, and put mine on it. I’m sorry, man," Gary stammered, shaking with fear. In that moment, Jensen grabs Gary by the throat and slams him to the floor, causing the floorboards to crack and break underneath Gary’s body, rattling the walls of the double-wide structure. "Nobody’s gonna know we’re here, and ain’t nobody gonna find you. If you tell anybody about this, I’ll be back to finish the job," Jensen says as he releases his hold on Gary’s neck and stands up. "Jensen, you made the poor kid s**t and piss himself, look at that," Parker points out as they walk out of the filthy trailer and head back to their vehicle. This time, Jensen hops into the driver's seat. "The boy laid his hands on a girl, whether she’s my mate or not," Jensen replies. "He was no boy; he was a disturbed and perverted 18-year-old," Parker retorts. "And how do you know this?" Jensen asks. "Obviously, his wallet with his driver’s license was sticking out on that little counter. It clearly stated he was 18," Parker replies. "Well, aren’t you observant, brother? That’s why you’re a damn good alpha," Jensen says with a smile. I would’ve loved nothing more than to kill the bastard after walking in and what we saw, but we don’t have time for that right now, but say the word Jensen and I will send one of our warriors at night keeping your hands clean bro “Park replies raising an eyebrow looking out for his brother. ""Let's just return this," Jensen said, reaching for the heavy backpack full of books from the floorboard between him and Parker. “I don’t know how she can carry something like this,” Parker remarked, examining the scuffed and worn bag. “It’s pretty heavy and looks like it’s been through a lot, especially with those new rips from that jackass.” With a slight smile, Jensen responded, “Well, she must be pretty strong for a human. Maybe we’ll get her a new one if we have time and mail it to her or something.” “I’m sure there’s an address in here,” Parker said, rifling through the bag. “But we need to get back.” "I’ll have one of the Warriors return it for us," Jensen replies. "I really think you should return it, but hey, it is what it is, right?" Parker responds,
