Chapter 5: Repeated nightmare

1231 Words
Evelyn woke up as she held her head in pains, her body heavy enough to lift it up. Something wasn't right at all for her, her itching eyes still hurt as she wiped them properly. But immediately her eyes slid open, and she met herself in a strange room. Her eyes tried to scan the whole event of last night, but nothing could be brought out. She lifted her hands up but they are too heavy to move, her legs shaking and weak. "Where am I?" She muttered to herself, while she spied at the left side of the bed. A well arranged pillow in a blue color, definitely it was a man's room. Her hands are trying to lift her body up, as she supports it on the bed. But immediately she tried sitting up, her body laid back in pains over a sound coming toward the door. She held her head in pains, as the flashing memory of the gunshots kept on moving. The scareness she felt after hearing it. She could remember having seen a man beside her, as he hugged her tightly before answering a phone call. Evelyn kept on trying to remember, but the more she did. Then she felt sharp pains clenching down her waist, as she screamed in pain. Her eyes widened in fear over the door sliding open, as she moved backward with her hands on her waist. But surprisingly for her, a Tall man walked in with a yellow tray with him, with his smiling face as he moved closer to her. But immediately he heard her screaming, he hopped the tray at the cupboard side beside the bed while he moved closer to her. "Are you okay?" He asked again, but her face remained silent. "What's wrong?" Alex kept on asking over and over again, but her eyes kept on finding ways to see who he might be. But the pains driving down her waist couldn't allow her to picture him clearly, she lifted her tiny eyes as she stared at him. "You??" She recalled him, the man she saw in her memory. "What's??" Alex asked again, his hands hugging her as he patted her shoulder. Trying to comfort her deeply, but she pulled him away from her. Giving a big gap between each other, her hands lifted up as she warned him with her finger. Don't you Dare!!! She yelled at him, without any reason. Her eyes wandered in fear, as she kept on warning him. "It's me...Don't you remember me at all", he asked again, this time his eyes finding a way to lay the words but couldn't. "Who are you? And why am I in your room?" She asked again, trying to glance at any harmful object to threaten him. "The man who saved you at the club" Alex cleared his throat, as he finally spoke. "At the club?" She asked again, still trying to pick some sense from it. "Yes, At the club, you were drunk, and I couldn't leave you like that there," he tried narrating, with his hands doing the actions. "Okay... how did I end up here?" She asked. "What do you mean?" He asked again, still confused. "I mean, in your room, doing what's here?" she responded as she tried picking up her clothes. "It's a long story; please have something to eat," he said, avoiding her silly question. Nothing seemed right to Evelyn, as she didn't utter a word. Her eyes fetched her clothes on the bed and she wore them before sitting properly on the bed. Alex watched her calm face, while he brought the tray closer to her, as she smiled happily. "Thank you," she said before devouring every bit of food she could chew, her mouth whining at the sweet egg sauce with fried yam. Easy!!! Alex said with a laugh as she nodded before dipping down some juice, and cleaning her mouth with a tissue. "Thank you", she said while dripping the last food on the plate before facing him directly. Just as Evelyn was about to drop the tray, immediately, the door slid open. An average Man with a broad shoulder walked inside, with his arms wrapped together as he watched the two of them. "Hey brother," Vinc greeted his brother as he moved closer to Alex with a smile. "What the hell are you doing here?" Alex yelled at him; Evelyn felt kinda afraid of their fight. She felt her hands shaken in fear with her body trembling while she moved backward. "Your lady, is she scared?" Vinc said with a smile, but Evelyn thought things would be worse. Alex pulled out his hands as he hugged Vinc tightly, with his hands wrapped around his body. Evelyn curled a smile while she held her bag, wanting to leave, but immediately, she made a step. "Stop...where are you going?" his voice is dimp and shallow as he faces her. "What?" She asked. "I mean...I have an important thing to attend to, if you don't mind, excuse me," She said, trying to hide her face from him. "But..." Alex tried clearing his throat, as he moved closer to her but got stopped by Vinc. Vinc held his hands tightly as he faced his brother with a smirk. "Let the lady go," Vinc said. Before They could think of any other way, Evelyn sped up with her hands forward. Evelyn walked down to the Tall black gate while she ordered a guard to slide the door open for her. Her eyes merging with the breeze down her body, as she moved faster to order a Cab. Evelyn ran faster as she swapped inside the car, with her hands tangled together on the chair seat. A few minutes had gone, and Evelyn walked down to her brother's apartment. Her eyes were weak and pale while she moved faster than she could to his door. Her weak hands wrapped around the door, and she knocked severally, but there was no response. But as she felt to slide on the ground, to get herself back. The door slid open, giving her a better view to spy her little brother at the door. His hands focused on his phone while he spied on her surprisedly. "What's happened to you?" Immediately he noticed her, he moved closer to her while trying to lift her up. "Diego..." she said as her voice kept on growing dimmer and low. "Come in", he said as he pulled her up while they strode inside the house, his eyes still fixed on her. He then moved her to his bed and laid her gently. "Where have you been?" Diego asked her again, but her eyes refused to lay on him. He moved closer to her, while he held her body as he kept on finding the words in her eyes. "I..." Evelyn finally explained everything, but she couldn't lay the part where she and Alex were having an affair. "I'm glad you're Alright", Diego said, patting his sister's shoulder as Evelyn smiled happily. "Please have some rest", he said while leaving her alone and walking to the parlor. Evelyn couldn't rest but think of the memories she had, with her hands scrubbing her head. Her phone vibrated as she pulled it toward her view while spying on the message. Her breath seized as she kept on staring with fear.
