Chapter Ten The Funeral of Cassandra I called in sick to work, saying that I had food poisoning. I reached for the bottle of Scotch, but came to my senses at the last moment and drank some orange juice instead. After popping a few more aspirin in my mouth, I went back to bed. I woke up in the late afternoon, feeling somewhat better. The heavy weight pressing into my chest was gone and the pounding in my head had subsided.
