Chapter Four
My last exam was Friday morning. As soon as I completed it, I packed my suitcase and took a cab to Laura’s. The plan was for me to spend the night at her house. We would drive to the airport early the next morning. We had a ten o’clock flight. My father was scheduled to pick us up at the West Palm Beach airport when we arrive.
Laura was not at home when I arrived. She was required to proctor exams that afternoon. There was a key to her house which she left under the door mat. She had fixed me a sandwich.
