When we arrived at the airport, my father assisted getting the suitcases from the trunk of the car. He kissed Laura and shook my hand. He wished us a safe flight. We already had our boarding passes. We went through security and then located our departure area. The flight was not leaving for another hour. “Would you like me to get you something to drink?” I asked. “No!” she responded. We just sat there in silence. Finally, the flight began to board. We were sitting in business class. We no sooner sat down than the stewardess offered us drinks. Laura refused, but I asked for a Bloody Mary. After we took off and were in the air for about ten minutes, I reached over and took Laura’s hand. She pulled her hand away. I knew that she was upset with me, but this was more than just being upset
