It was a clear weathered Monday morning and Pearl was back in her apartment in London. Anticipation welled up deep inside her and she realized she wasn’t as excited about resuming work as she was anxious about seeing Derek again. She was all giddy when she told her mother and grandmother, and she believed that they were as excited as she was. It had been an early journey out of the country the next morning and here she was back in London.
