I take a deep breathe as I reach forth and knock on the door. As it opens and I see her standing there, I can’t help but freeze. It feels like forever since I last saw her. I can’t tear my eyes away from her face. She smiles at me. She smiles! She steps forward and reaches her hands up to cup my cheeks. She pulls my face down and presses her lips against mine. I am still. Am I dreaming? If this is a dream, I don’t ever want to wake up. My arms curl around her waist and I pull her close. I feel the warm sparks travel around my body as I hold her against me. She pulls away and it takes every ounce of control not to pull her back. To taste her sweet lips and feel her melt against me.

“wow. I mean... hi. I..... What?” I stumble over my words. I don’t know how to express what I am feeling. She just takes my hand and pulls me inside. We sit on the couch and talk. She tells me why she did what she did. Everything Cecelia said to her. For a moment I am angry at her. My mate believed someone else over me. But the feeling fades quickly. I can’t help but understand that, I am a stranger to her. I decide to show her just how much I trust her. What she means to me. “Maddy? Can you go on a drive with me?” I take her to the lake. The drive is quiet, but peaceful. I don’t feel the cold, anxious feeling I had the last time we were in the car together. I am so appreciative for this chance and I feel like what I am going to do is right. I just... I just know it will work. I escort her to the pavilion. Our place. The crystal water sparkles as the sunlight hits it. The cool breeze bring fresh air and easing the warmth of the sunlight.

“Maddy, I need you to know that I would never hurt you. Please, try to trust me.” She looks at me quizzically. Her eyes then widen as my bones start to crack and my body morphs. Fur coating my skin. I sit, fully transformed into my wolf. She looks at me. Startled at first. The a smile lights up her face as she steps forward. Her hand caresses my snout. “I know you....” My heart lifts, filled with hope as she falls to her knees and embraces me. Stroking my fur. Tears start falling down her cheeks as she call my name. I lick away her tears and she giggles. I transform back and as she sees my bare chest, she blushes. I smile. I can’t contain the warmth that is erupting inside. “you remember me.” I laugh and pull her close. I rain kisses over her face. Her silky cheeks, her delicate nose, her full lips. Her arms come around and caress my back. Her hands sliding across my flesh. I groan into her mouth.

My heart races and my skin heats up. I finally pull away because if I don’t st now, I don’t know if I will be able to.

As We drive to my place, she texts her brother and let’s him know she remembers me. We have talked and she will be spending the night at my house. The smile doesn’t leave my face. It can’t. I have my mate back. She remembers me. My face darkens slightly as I remember why this happened. Cecelia. I will makes you regret hurting her. I glance over and seeing her there, vanishes the darkness away. I will deal with it tomorrow. Right now, I just want to revel in the feelings I am experiencing.

As we pull into the driveway, I see my parents come out. As we open our doors and walk over, I watch my dad grin and a smile light up my mum's face. She pulls Maddy into her arms. “ I am so glad that you came back to us.” We go inside and talk and laugh and it just all feels so right. I know, this is how I want to spend the rest of my life.

As night falls, we head up to my room. She grabs some Pjs from her part of the cupboard. As she heads into the bathroom to change, I reach out for her hand and pull her to me. I look into her eyes and I can’t wait anymore. I quickly go to my nightstand and open the top drawer. I pull out a small velvet box. I turn to her and get down on one knee. “Maddy. You are my mate and the love of my life. I had all these plans for a big, romantic proposal. But I just can’t wait another moment. You are beautiful and strong and kind and way smarter than I will ever be. I know that the future of my pack is safe with you by my side. I can’t imagine the rest of my life without you. Marry me.”
