''Welcome back!'' Dom grinned as we re-entered the living room. ''Did Noah give you your present then?''
''Yes!'' Mina squealed in delight, hugging her book tightly. ''I can’t believe it! Thanks for suggesting it to him!''
''No problem,'' Dom shrugged. ''What are friends for?''
With that, Mina and Dom settled down together, eagerly flipping through the pages of the book. I rolled my eyes but chose to sit next to Mina instead. The sweet scent of her perfume stirred something in me, and I shifted in an attempt to focus my thoughts elsewhere.
''Thank goodness Mina's got you for all this science stuff,'' I remarked, staring down at the text in the book where I couldn't make sense of a single word. ''I’d be utterly lost without her.''
