I glanced over and spotted Mina deep in conversation with her mom, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Mina!" I called out, but instead of stopping, she bolted away.
Scr*w this, I thought, as I chased after her, she wasn’t getting away from me after everything that had happened with Jamul. She disappeared into the changing rooms, so I stood outside waiting. When she finally came out, her cheeks flushed bright red as she walked past me.
"Etamina, please wait!" I pleaded, realizing how powerless I was around her. I felt my anger dissipate completely—she had me completely under her spell without even knowing it.
"What do you want, Noah?" She snapped, sounding irritated. "I’m trying to train!"
I pressed on, asking why she hadn’t attended class yesterday.
