To say it was a comfortable night would have to be an understatement the hammock wasn’t the worst place to sleep in fact Rio found it comfortable what he found uncomfortable was how many times Alex left the hut throughout the night because someone needed something. It would’ve been okay if he wasn’t constantly being woken up every time someone came to get Alex. He has dealt with noisy people before he’s had enough team meetings through high school and college to know that everyone sleeps differently some sleep walk, sleep talk, some even decide to be clingy or fight while they sleep and frankly while he hates sleep fighters the most he would much prefer a roommate that didn’t have twelve different people knocking on his door throughout the night babbling to him about a saguma running rampant whatever a saguma is or another saying he saw guards close to the west side of the camp and oh this last one took the cake one guy decided to come and start complaining about there lover sleeping with another person just so that love showed up and they argued and turns out the person said lover was supposedly sleeping with was actually there brother. Once the twelfth person had finally left he sat up in annoyance and glared over at Alex who was walking back over to his hammock “we need to set some ground rules”. Alex glanced over to the hammock in the dark room looking at the Slight glow of the other eyes “ I am the leader I get interrupted all the time get used to it”. Rio groaned in annoyance he grumbled something before turning in his Hammock He mentally swore that if this happened one more time he was going to fight someone. After a few minutes the room went silent and before he knew it he heard soft snoring coming from across the room. Rio sighed as he lay there in the dark and then another knock came at the hut door. He sat up growling as he stomped over to the door and slightly yelling “Go away it’s literally in the middle of the night give or take two people f*****g sleep!” The person at the door was tall and lean and Rea was pretty sure if you wanted to fight he could beat them that’s when he felt a hand on his shoulder in a matter of moments he was yanked and tossed into the back of the room glared of the person who just glared back at him. Alex left the room slamming the door as murmurs could be heard from the other side along with an apology to the other person. Rio grumbled “You have got to be kidding me” he sat there on the floor waiting for the other to return and when Alex returned Rio spoke before the other could “ I don’t get why you have to apologize or why they can’t figure out their own stuff in the middle of the night they should understand you need to rest just as much as anyone else does, Seriously dude they’re gonna run you ragged I might be pretty new here but I know that even leaders need breaks”. Rio was surprised that he wasn’t interrupted during that entire spiel The other just stood there watching patiently until he was done before speaking “ that may be true and I’m not sure what kind of background you have or what kind of leaders you know however that’s not how I run things and my group is going through hard times so it doesn’t matter if I’m tired or bleeding out my job first and foremost is to take care of my group and take down the tyrant royal family. Do you understand?” Rio sat there silently his head looking at the ground before a voice boomed above him “Do. You. Understand.” Rio nodded his head slowly realizing it was dark and that the other probably couldn’t see him nodding spoke in a soft voice “yeah I understand”. They both went to their beds in silence neither speaking to the other Rio Felt bad maybe he overstepped his bounds and where Alex didn’t need his sleep Rio did. If every night was gonna be like this The redhead wasn’t sure how he was gonna get by because he doesn’t function on barely any sleep. Rio can’t remember a time where he didn’t get enough sleep one day and he was literally falling asleep in class and he could barely focus while skating on the ice and had a nasty wipe out because of it he had blood dripping from his nose all over as the coach pulled him off along with some of his other teammates man how he wishes He could go back to that day or any of the other days and not have to worry about any of the craziness of another world. It’s only been a Little over a day since he came to this world and he Feels like he’s been here for months just dealing with everything and while some of the people aren’t so bad some of them are just plain crazy. Rio decided to break the silence and apologize to Alex he was pretty sure the dark-haired man wasn’t asleep yet hell he wasn’t even sure if he did sleep at all with how many people interrupt them in the night “Hey if you’re still awake I’m sorry I acted like an immature child”. There was silence throughout the small hut And in the darkness of the room a voice spoke above it “ it’s fine I guess I should’ve warned you or given you something to plug your ears for the night so my bad”. They both burst into laughter it was honestly comical for how well the two got along together. For real it was like being on the ice with a teammate he’s known for years that he could fight with, joke around with, or just be relaxed around. As for Alex he felt like Rio had been there for more than just one day he wasn’t sure why he felt so come around the other or could gets so frustrated in a matter of minutes. However, well neither of them said what they where thinking they could both feel it somewhere deep within themselves. “I'll take those earplugs now otherwise you may not like me in the morning” they both burst into a fit of laughter again before Alex sat up making just a little bit of noise before walking over to the other he stood in front of Rio who was still laying in his hammock before bringing both of his hands up and turning Rios face from side to side as he stuck in some moss balls to help with the noise for the night while the other may not have been able to see it. Alex was secretly smiling to himself without even realizing it. As for real he continued to watch as the other move back to his hammock for the night he laid back down into his hammock as he clutched his chest unsure of what he was feeling it was so different than what he felt with his friends but at the same time so enticing.
