How did I manage to get transported to another world? I’m just a college Hockey Player!

Chapter 2

Rio stumbled over a tree root as he stumbled falling into a stream. He got up quickly not wanting to take any chances of the guards or some werewolf beast thing coming and either attacking him to drag him back to the psycho k********g prince or eaten. He stumbled again cursing the dense forest and all the roots that where covering the forest floor. He stumbled down a hill and into some bushes that where hiding a hidden cave. Rio looked around it was dark inside the cave but figured it was better than being caught and forced to kill someone he didn’t even know. Beside's this isn’t some tv show or book it was real life and sadly it was his life at the moment no matter how unbelievable it actually was. He went deeper into the dark cave he walked for a good long while. The cave even though it was dark it didn’t seem like a normal cave made by water and erosion the walls felt almost like someone had taken there time carving into it. So, Rio followed the carved out part of the cave hoping it would lead him to some kind of exit and not leave him wandering around in the dark for absolutely who knows how long.

After about twenty minutes he finally saw light ahead and took off towards it. He knew it wasn’t the same hole he came through since there wasn’t any bushes in front of the entrance and there was a small lake just about thirty feet away. The part that bugged him most was the fact that he was still lost in some forest he didn’t know where he could go or what kinds of species lived in the forest surrounding the lake or how far actual civilization was from him. Rio sighed as he bent over in frustration pulling at his hair and growling “Damn it!” He really didn’t think this plan entirely through. He heard a rustling from the side of him and thought 's**t I was being to loud!'

Rio backed up slowly trying to make a break for the cave to give him cover when a giant bear landed in front of him wearing a cloak around his neck and a pair of black pants “well well well what do we have here?” Yawning at the end of his question. Rio took note that the bear man looked tired and warn out and he was pretty sure that if the bear man didn’t have all the fur blocking his face you would see the bags under his eyes. Rio backed up slowly he was far from weak but he was pretty sure not even he could take on a bear that practically loomed over him with huge claws for nails.

He kept backing up till the bears voice drew his attention back to him “so who sent you? How did you find this place? And what in the name are you wearing?” Rio looked down at what he was wearing a pair of black shorts his favorite hockey team shirt with a black hoodie and a set of army tags that belonged to his mom for when she served. He also had a stud earring with a black gem in it. “I’m just wearing normal clothes? Wait can you help me Mr. Bear I’m trying to find a town or something with people in it I’m a little lost…” eyes drifting back to the bears claws. The bear looked the other up and down before deciding on what to do.

The bear man gave a smile and acted cheerful if Rio didn’t know any better he would’ve said the smile was fake. The bears eyes slit open and his large mouth opened to speak “of course please follow me I’ll take you to the nearest town”. Rio's eyes widened “you aren’t planning on eating me or feeding me to your family right you better promise that you aren’t!” The bear broke into laughter which didn’t seem fake “bwahahahaha me eat you! That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all weak!” Bending over and putting his hands on his legs and then standing back up straight “your a funny one I’ll give ya that just to let ya know kid I’m a vegetarian and also even if I wasn’t I think you’d be to tough to eat”. Rio was startled at first but began to relax until the bear walked over and wrapped an arm around his neck which showed how much bigger and taller the guy was. Rio wasn’t very small far from it actually he was six feet four inches and this guy had to be at least eight feet tall if not bigger not to mention his arms where thick.

Rio stumbled as the bear dragged him along by the neck as he walked to lead the way. Rio managed to keep pace with him as he followed along and glanced around at there surroundings. It was a pretty dense forest to the point you could barely see through the trees. As they went further he could’ve sworn that one part of the tree tops didn’t look like it grew there it looked like a flooring like it was made or built.

The bear man pulled away and pointed straight ahead “if you keep going that way you’ll reach a village in a matter of minutes”. Rio gave a curt nod “thank you so much for your help”. Before beginning to walk forward slowly glancing behind his shoulder to see the bear smirking at him and turning to walk away “oh and you might want to watch your step!” Rio gave a dumbfounded look as he kept walking “what does he mean by tha- aaaaaatttttt!” He took one more step forward before something tightened around his ankle and sent him falling to the ground he braced his head when was speeding through the air up up up. When his ride up finally stopped he was hanging upside down bouncing a few times hand over his stomach and his mouth. When he finally opened his eyes his view came into a sharp object pointing directly at his head with a man who had black hair and green eyes “and where prey tell did you find this funny looking monkey?” Rio glanced to the side seeing the bear man that led him here standing next to the other “I was by the lake when I saw him come out of the cave seemed a bit fishy so I led him here so you can deal with him”. The black haired man swung his sword at Rio who instinctively blocked his face in fear. He dropped to the ground with an oomf. He groaned and sat up slowly hands on a wood surface unlike the dirt ground they had previously been walking on.

Rio was just done with this day he wanted to wake up from this nightmare already so he can get on with a normal day and not have to worry about dying or having things such as sharp objects pushed in his face or be told what he has to do.
