How did I manage to get transported to another world? I’m just a college Hockey Player!

Chapter 1

It was like any normal day for Riotsuki Shinigami who went by Rio was a red head, built twenty three year old man and for short he'd start his day with a morning workout routine. To be honest the day started normal but as it progressed something felt off. He knew it wasn’t a cold or him coming down with something. It was an ominous feeling like something was going to go wrong but everything was progressing like normal. He went to School, Hockey Practice, and was getting ready to head home. He was a college student in his third year in architecture. He was on his way back to his school dorm when he heard a scream he went in that direction to see some girl about to be devoured by some kind of giant Wolf!? The thing stood on two legs with glowing golden eyes growling at the poor girl on the ground. He ran up to the beast swinging his hockey stick around feeling like an i***t unsure of how this would actually save anyone as he yelled “get out of here quickly!” The beast approached as its ears twitched and the girl began laughing like a maniac “Oh dear boy I have nothing to be afraid of. Thank you though for being so easy to lure here” Rio was just about to ask what the lady meant by that but before he got the chance to speak everything went fuzzy. At first there where soft hushed voices then a dark void appearing out of no where when the beast picked him up from the ground then there was just a slight breeze that felt like he was being sucked into a vacuum of sorts.

When Rio finally came too he was in a large room surrounded by people the beast the was attacking that girl was standing in front of him. The beast demeanor seemed different more respectable in a way. The beast with thick black fir was wearing a nice golden suit and glasses and the girl he was trying to help was wearing a long cloak smiling politely up a set of stairs as a blurry figure began to descend the stair case. He slowly sat up feeling sore like he just played a rough game against an opponent that continuously thru him into a wall the entire time. The person approached him with a smile the man gave a deep bow “Pleasure to meet you my dear hero and future bride my name is Prince Leon Albatraz but you can call me love of your life or just Leon is fine”. Rio looked at the man confused with a raised eyebrow “What?” Leon chuckled shaking his head “of course your a bit confused but do not worry all you need to do is tell me your name my love and we can move on with the arrangements for you to start training and have the wedding prepared!” Rio looked the other up and down “I’m umm Riotsuki Shinigami but just Rio is fine? Wait hero? Marriage? What are ya even talking about?”

Leon smiled happy to help enlighten the ignorant “well my dear you and me will be married and you are the hero destined for greatness to slay the evil king and stand by my side for the rest of our days!” Rio's mouth fell open in shock “What! But I’m not even gay… wait you are a guy right?” Prince Leon gave a curt nod “the hell you realize this is k********g right and I don’t even know you why would I marry you wait slay you mean as in murder someone?” Leon's smile fades to a disappointed frown “Yes I am a guy and while you don’t currently know me I know quit a bit about you and besides it isn’t murder you are just killing someone to better the people”. Rio gives a conflicted look as he looks the other man in front of him up and down unsure if this person is actually being serious or not “I’m sorry but I believe killing someone and murder are pretty much the same thing and I’m sorry but I decline your offer of marriage so can I go home now?” Leon burst into laughter shaking his head “I don’t think you understand you can’t just leave and besides I don’t think you really have a choice on the matter my dear hero Johnathan please escort our hero to his accommodations for this evening while I start preparations on our wedding plans. Rio looked at the beast well Johnathan by what the prince had called him who turned to Rio and offered a hand to help him up. Rio was hesitant but still took the hand offered to him to get up looking at the claws attached to the others fingers as he lead him out of the room.

Once they where out Rio glanced around before whispering “So Johnathan would you mind showing me out of this place or back to my school where you first found me?” The beast glanced over his shoulder snorting at him in dismay “I will not go against my prince's wishes besides that will be a little hard to do since I was not the one who cast the spell to bring you here in the first place. Rio looked down before looking back up to see the other wasn’t looking at him anymore before asking his next question “where is here exactly?” The beast sighed heavily as his shoulders slumped and he mumbled “right you’ve never been here before” he stopped at a door and opened it before answering the other “You are in the kingdom of Ferora a kingdom separate from your own world”. Rio nodded he tried to follow along in the conversation while it made sense it also didn’t feel right maybe he was just dreaming and when he woke up in the morning none of this craziness would have never actually happened. He looked at the taller man who had a long tail and pointy ears. He didn’t mean to ask the question but his mouth started moving and words started coming out before he could stop them “so are you like a werewolf or something? Can you shift into a human form or go all wolf?” Johnathan tilted his head one ear falling to the side “what is a werewolf and how would it be physically possible for me to change my shape or loose mass amounts of hair?” Rio felt a bit embarrassed fumbling with his hands as he tried to form words only to stop when a clawed hand was brought up gesturing him to stop. Rio looked up to the beast man with a slight blush and apologizing to the other. Johnathan sighed he felt like he was doing that a lot lately. Between being given absurd orders and having to carry them out he was really hoping he wouldn’t have to do much more of this he’s to old for any of the drama and too busy to keep it up he just wanted to go home to his family and not deal with anymore trouble or drama. “This is your room please stay here do not leave it unless your presence is requested and I mean it Do. Not. Leave. Your. Room. Unless. Requested. I do not need anymore of a headache from all the chaos going around”.

Rio stepped into the room as the door was shut behind him and he was left alone in the giant room. He looked around in curiosity the room was just as big as his dorm room if not bigger and he gets it all to himself. The bed was in the center of the room he presumed it was king sized there was a desk a large dresser and a table with furnishings all around. The walls where a pale yellow color not the worst thing he’s ever seen with red curtains that lead onto a balcony. He walked up to a door and opened it finding a nice bathroom attached “fancy?” He closed the door behind him and walked over to the next door that was across the room. He opened the door and walked into a large walk in closet that had several pairs of shoes all lined in a row and multiple different outfits. He was unsure about all of this and just didn’t feel right he needed to figure out how to get home.

From the information he has thus far what the beast guy or well what Johnathan said made some sense since he was pretty sure his world didn’t have walking on two legs and talking animals with the exception of monkeys and parrot's of course. He walked over to the door he entered thru and opened it slowly peeking out quietly looking at the heavily armed guards that both gave him silent intimidating stairs which was meant with silence. Rio slowly closed the door walking over to the bed and sitting down with a thump elbows resting on his knees as he put his face into his hands with a deep sigh trying to think of ways to get out of this mess.

He fell back onto the bed feeling the bedding and lifting it up to his face before his eyes drifted to the large glass doors that led onto the balcony. He sat up and walked over to the doors and went outside the weather was pretty nice he’d give this place that. He looked down leaning over the balcony they where at least twenty feet from the ground to high to jump from. However, Rio has seen enough movies where the protagonist tied there bedding into a long rope and climb down the side of the castle or tower they where stuck in how hard could it be. Hard it was a lot harder than the movies made it look getting the knots right was one thing making sure the bed and everything wouldn’t move or make a loud noise that would alert the guards outside an entirely different issue. Rio was thankful none of them had entered in the process of making his bedding rope which leads to the second part of the plan throwing it over the side. That part was pretty easy and when he was ready he started climbing down the side everything was going pretty good and he was half way down when he heard someone from above him. He looked up to see a guard yelling at him and telling him to stop which made him loose his focus slipping up on his footing causing him to fall the rest of the way down. He groaned sitting up rubbing his back. Rio knew he couldn’t just sit there and wait to get caught so he took off running into the woods at top speed adrenaline pumping thru his veins as he heard the guard yelling for more guards and that the hero/ prince's bride is escaping catch him. Those where the last words he heard as his distance between the castle and himself got further and further apart.
