Chapter 4

Rio sat there for three hours board out of his mind when somebody finally walked into the hut “jeez finally you know how blaring it is just to sit here and do literally nothing?” The black haired man from earlier stared at him as he walked over and sat in a polite way in front of him “I’m surprised you didn’t try running away while you had the chance”. Rio quirked an eyebrow at the other before glancing at the door “oh believe me I tried but ya weren’t lyin when ya said the only way out of this building is by one of those rickety bridges and like hell I’m plummeting to my death in some other world”. The dark haired mad chuckled softly shaking his head “I don’t understand why your so scared of heights?” Rio groaned as he rolled his eyes “it’s a normal thing to be scared of lots of people are”.

The dark haired man stood up and says “most people are more afraid if they will get to the next day or not”. Rio didn’t really know what to say to that he wasn’t sure how this world worked compared to his own and frankly he was just ready to go back home “hey you don’t by chance know any wizards do ya?” The look the other gave him was so unreadable it kinda pissed him off 'wait what if they don’t go by wizards in this world then what am I gonna do!' Ran through his head as his face shifted into worry. The dark haired man cleared his throat before speaking to draw the others attention back to him, once Rio’s eyes where focused on him he asked “shouldn’t you be more worried about what my group is going to do with you? Over wether or not I know a mage or not and calling them wizards is so out dated you know” Rio gulped he forgot no not exactly forgot more like pushed the thought to the back of his mind so he didn’t have to keep thinking about different ways they were going to torcher him or worse things that he probably hasn’t even heard of that this world has and his doesn’t.

Rio looked anywhere but the man in front of him before his eyes drifted back to the other “do I at least get to know your name before you sentence me to some unheard of fate?” The dark haired man sighed as he shook his head “I figured that loud mouth from earlier would’ve told you my name but since he hasn’t I suppose it’s fine” he took a moment to pause before standing up straight and giving a curt bow “my name is Alexander however, if you call me that I will remove your tongue understood?” Rio nodded ferociously before speaking “ so what do I call you then? If I can’t call you by your name since I'm not one of your guys and well I am your prisoner?”

Alexander laughed quietly to himself before answering “ nobody calls me Alexander except for my mom when she was around my friends call me Alex my colleagues call me Alex if anyone I know calls me Alex and if anyone calls me Alexander just as your fate will be you lose your tongue or worse depends on my mood understood?” Rio nodded his head biting his lip “ so Alex what’s your plans for me me?” Alex tapped his chin like he was thinking hadn’t been gone for hours discussing with his people and what to do with him. He took a seat in front of it Rio before looking him dead in the eyes. Rio thought he saw a bit of A spark within those eyes he was unsure if they were dangerous or not but he could feel like this man sitting right in front of him wasn’t as dangerous as some of the others he has met in this world for example Prince Leon. Prince Leon rubbed him the wrong way but for some reason Alex made him a bit comfortable like he was hanging with one of his teammates from back home.

Rio took a deep breath preparing for the worst as the other opened his mouth to speak “ it’s your lucky day, we are going to kill you However, we are going to use you”. Rio felt confused on how they could possibly use him he was pretty sure he wasn’t useful in any way in this world unless there also wanting him to kill someone 'oh god I hope that’s not the case' ran through his mind. “ what are you using me for exactly?” Alex smiled mischievously “ i’m glad you asked”. Alex stretched his arms in the air above his head before bringing them back down and setting them in his lap watching Rio closely “ you said it yourself prince Leon wants you as his bride and his hero and you just so graciously handed yourself to us his enemy”.

Rio's eyes widened in terror he didn’t know what they were planning or how they were going to use him “what are you planning to do with me?” Alex sat in a relaxed position as he leaned back on his hands that were extended behind him he gave the other a chased smirk “ if your worried that your going to die don’t we aren’t using you as bait in that way your life won’t be threatened to much”. Rio went stiff and muttered “too much?” But got immediately cut off by Alex raising one of his hands and continuing to speak “however, that will change if we see you as an enemy and don’t do everything we ask of you understood”. Somehow it felt more like a demand when he said understood not a question he watched as Alex extended his hand to him to shake in agreement Rio didn’t seem like he had much choice however at this time he was forced to trust this man that he barely knew so he took the hand extended to him and shook in agreement.

Alex smiled and stood up gesturing to Rio to get up “ i’ll show you where you’ll be sleeping tonight so follow me”. Rio watched as the other walked towards the door to lead the way “Wait! Uhmm maybe I could just sleep here or something?” Alex looked back at him and sighed “right the whole scared of heights thing maybe you could just close your eyes and I can lead you?” Rio shook his head “yeah not gonna work that bridge sways and no way am I crossing it!” Alex ground in disapproval as he walked over to the other and swept him off his feet. Rio covered his eyes in embarrassment and demanded him to put him down only to be ignored by the other as he exited the small wooden hut taking him to his semi permanent housing.

When Rio was finally sat down he removed his ants from his face and looked around the hut that he was brought to it was a bit bigger than the one before and had more furnishings and looked lived in “this will be your housing for the time being understood?” Rio nodded as he glanced around “ so am I like sharing this place with someone?” Alex walked over to a Hamic and sat down on it and said “yep me” before laying down in it and closing his eyes. Rio was shocked to find out he was staying with the leader of this mysterious group “ wait aren’t you the leader should I be like staying with one of your henchmen or lower ranked guys?” Alex peeked an eye open and gave a simple “No” he shifted in the hammock before pointing to another one “get some sleep we start early”. Rio looked to where he was pointing and saw another hammock he figured he’d take the others advice at least he hoped it was advice and climbed in laying there trying to process this long day as he drifted to sleep.
