Lucy ended the call with Declan, wearing a pensive expression. He had found the idea about ‘My Cuisine in the Sun’ interesting and said he would spy out the lie of the land, but he could not make any promises. That was good enough, Lucy knew.
She wondered if it made sense to move to Cyprus if this went through. She could perhaps keep the house as a holiday destination – or not. She would only lose the advance payment. At least, it would be money well spent. Michael was worth every penny.
Lucy felt guilty, nonetheless, for she knew that the advance was only a small fraction of the startup capital he needed, and he was counting on receiving the entire amount soon. She did not even want to begin considering how he would come up with the rest if she backed down.
