Chapter 20 - 2013
The sun was high when Michael and Lucy reached the Aphrodite nature trail in the Akamas peninsula. They got out of the car and stretched their legs. It was a glorious day, clear and warm.
“Ready for hiking?” Michael asked.
“Sure! It’s beautiful up here.” Lucy marveled at the stunning view of the Bay of Polis from the top of the cliff.
After a five-minute walk, they came to the Baths of Aphrodite, a grotto with a big fig tree by the entrance. “So, Aphrodite bathed in this pond,” Lucy said, her gaze gliding around the romantic cave with the waterfall.
“Not alone. Legend has it that this is where she first met Adonis. He was hunting in the forest and stopped here to quench his thirst. It was love at first sight.” Michael gave her a comical smile.
