It's been almost a full week since Kat and Amber came to visit. I've talked to Amber, but at her suggestion, I've given Kat her space to get herself straightened out.
Shakey has finally come back to our unit, and he seems to be doing well. They have his cancer under control, and his heart is healthier than ever. Unfortunately, Otis ended up passing away peacefully in his sleep before Shakey could make it back here.
He doesn't seem sad that his friend is gone, and just says that when it's time to go, no one can change death's mind. He said that Otis was now free and not confined to these walls, and that he should be celebrated and not mourned.
