Aria’s POV The door of the black sedan clicked shut, sealing out the noise of the city. Inside, the air smelled of leather and a familiar, spicy cologne that made my stomach do a slow, painful flip. Ryan didn't pull away immediately. He sat with his hands on the steering wheel, his knuckles white. He didn't look at me, but I could feel his gaze heavy on the side of my face. "You finally looked, didn’t you?" he asked quietly. His voice didn't carry the smugness I expected. It was flat. Tired.
