"Let go of me, or you'll regret it!"
Elena's voice wavered with desperation. She knew there was no one coming to save her, and even if something did happen to her, Nathaniel wouldn't care enough to come to her defense.
But if she didn't try something now, she was sure the situation would get even worse.
"Shut up!" One of the men slapped her hard across the face. "Keep screaming, and I'll shut you up for good!"
Dazed, her vision blurred from the blow, but Elena clutched her clothes tightly, refusing to let them strip away any more of her dignity. The men, instead of retreating, only grew bolder.
