As soon as that problem was dealt with, and I wasn't stuck in survival mode, I was able to process what had just happened. My brother had wounded Mia, and my father had just stood by and allowed it to happen.
He didn't even seem all that perturbed that she was hurt or even bleeding. He had just told me not to take her out of the room right now because we might be attacked, and his human guests would be in danger. There had been no sign of remorse. And where even was Kyrin?
